ThensaidPilateunto them, Takeyehim, andjudgehimaccordingto yourlaw. TheJewsthereforesaidunto him, It is not lawfulfor usto put any man to death: Thatthesayingof Jesusmight be fulfilled, whichhe spake, signifyingwhatdeathhe shoulddie. ThenPilateenteredintothejudgment hallagain, andcalledJesus, andsaidunto him, ArtthoutheKingof theJews? Jesusansweredhim, Sayestthou this thingofthyself, or did otherstell it theeofme? Pilateanswered, AmIa Jew? Thine ownnationandthechief priestshave deliveredtheeunto me: whathast thou done? Jesusanswered, Mykingdomisnotofthisworld: ifmykingdomwereofthisworld, then would myservantsfight, that I should not be delivered to theJews: butnowismykingdomnot from hence. Pilatethereforesaidunto him, Artthoua kingthen? Jesusanswered, ThousayestthatIam a king. To this end was Iborn, andfor this causecame I intotheworld, that I should bear witness unto thetruth.
