Andwhen he heardofJesus, he sentuntohimthe eldersof theJews, beseechinghimthathe would comeandhealhisservant. Andwhen theycametoJesus, they besoughthiminstantly, saying, Thathe wasworthyfor whomhe should dothis: Forhe lovethournation, andhehath builtusa synagogue. ThenJesuswentwiththem. Andwhen hewasnownotfarfromthehouse, thecenturionsentfriendstohim, sayingunto him, Lord, troublenotthyself: forI amnotworthythatthou shouldest enterundermyroof: Whereforeneitherthought I myself worthyto comeuntothee: butsayin a word, andmyservantshall be healed. ForIalsoama mansetunderauthority, havingundermesoldiers, andI sayunto one, Go, andhe goeth; andto another, Come, andhe cometh; andto myservant, Dothis, andhe doeth it. WhenJesusheardthese things, he marveledat him, andturned him about, and saidunto thepeoplethat followedhim, I say unto you, I have not found so greatfaith, no, notinIsrael. Andthey that were sent, returningtothehouse, foundtheservantwholethat had been sick. Andit came to passtheday after, that he wentintoa citycalledNain; andmanyof hisdiscipleswent withhim, andmuchpeople. Nowwhenhe came nighto thegateof thecity, behold, there was a dead mancarried out, the onlysonof hismother, andshewasa widow: andmuchpeopleof thecitywaswithher. Andwhen theLordsawher, he had compassiononher, andsaidunto her, Weepnot. Andhe cameand touchedthebier: andthey that bare him stood still. Andhe said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. Andhe that was deadsat up, andbeganto speak. Andhe deliveredhimto hismother. Andthere came a fearon all: andthey glorifiedGod, saying, Thata greatprophetis risen upamongus; and, ThatGodhath visitedhispeople. Andthisrumorofhimwent forththroughoutallJudea, andthroughoutalltheregion round about. Andthedisciplesof Johnshowedhimofallthese things. AndJohncalling unto himtwoof hisdisciplessent them toJesus, saying, Artthouhe that should comeorlook we foranother? Whenthemenwere comeuntohim, they said, JohnBaptisthath sentusuntothee, saying, Artthouhe that should comeorlook we foranother? Andinthat samehourhe curedmanyof their infirmitiesandplagues, andof evilspirits; andunto many that were blindhe gavesight. ThenJesusansweringsaidunto them, Go your way, and tellJohn what things ye have seenandheard; how that the blindsee, the lamewalk, the lepers are cleansed, the deafhear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. Andblessedis he, whosoever shall not be offendedinme. Andwhen themessengersof Johnwere departed, he beganto speakuntothepeopleconcerningJohn, What went ye outintothewilderness for to see? A reedshakenwith the wind? Butwhat went ye out for to see? A manclothedinsoftraiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously appareled, andlivedelicately, arein kings' courts. Butwhat went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. Thisis he, ofwhom it is written, Behold, Isendmymessengerbeforethyface, which shall preparethywaybeforethee. For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there isnot a greaterprophet than JohntheBaptist: but he that is leastinthekingdom of Godisgreater than he. Andallthepeoplethat heard him, andthepublicans, justifiedGod, being baptizedwith thebaptismof John. ButthePhariseesandlawyersrejectedthecounselof Godagainstthemselves, being notbaptizedofhim. AndtheLordsaid, Whereuntothen shall I likenthemen of thisgeneration? and to whatare they like? They are like untochildrensittingin the marketplace, andcalling one to another, andsaying, We have piped unto you, and ye have notdanced; we have mourned to you, and ye have notwept. ForJohntheBaptistcameneithereatingbreadnordrinkingwine; and ye say, He hath a devil. TheSon of man is comeeatinganddrinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonousman, and a winebibber, a friend of publicansandsinners! Butwisdom is justifiedofallherchildren. Andoneof thePhariseesdesiredhimthathe would eatwithhim. Andhe wentintothePharisee's house, andsat down to meat. And, behold, a womaninthecity, whichwasa sinner, when she knewthat Jesus sat at meatinthePharisee's house, broughtan alabaster boxof ointment, Andstoodathisfeetbehind him weeping, and beganto washhisfeetwith tears, anddid wipe them with thehairsof herhead, andkissedhisfeet, andanointed them with theointment. Nowwhen thePhariseewhich had biddenhimsaw it, he spakewithinhimself, saying, This man, ifhe werea prophet, would have knownwhoandwhat mannerof woman this is thattouchethhim: forshe isa sinner. AndJesusansweringsaiduntohim, Simon, I havesomewhat to say unto thee. Andhesaith, Master, say on. There was a certaincreditor which hadtwodebtors: theoneowed five hundredpence, andtheotherfifty. And when theyhadnothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will lovehimmost? Simonansweredand said, I supposethat he, to whomhe forgavemost. Andhesaidunto him, Thou hast rightlyjudged. Andhe turnedtothewoman, and saidunto Simon, Seest thou thiswoman? I enteredintothinehouse, thou gavest me nowaterformyfeet: butshe hath washedmyfeet with tears, andwiped them with thehairs of herhead. Thou gavestmenokiss: but this womansince the time I came in hath notceased to kissmyfeet. Myhead with oil thou didst notanoint: but this woman hath anointedmyfeet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Hersins, which are many, are forgiven; for she lovedmuch: but to whomlittle is forgiven, the same lovethlittle. Andhe saidunto her, Thysins are forgiven. Andthey that sat at meat withhim beganto saywithinthemselves, Whoisthisthatforgivethsinsalso? Andhe saidtothewoman, Thyfaith hath savedthee; goinpeace.
