Andhe looked up, and sawtherich mencastingtheirgiftsintothetreasury. Andhe sawalsoa certainpoorwidowcasting inthithertwomites. Andhe said, Of a truth I say unto you, thatthispoorwidow hath cast inmore than they all: Forallthese have oftheirabundance cast inuntotheofferings of God: butsheofherpenury hath cast inallthelivingthat she had. Andas somespakeofthetemple, howit was adornedwith goodlystonesandgifts, he said, As for these thingswhich ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Andthey askedhim, saying, Master, but whenshallthese thingsbe? andwhatsign will there be whenthese thingsshallcome to pass? Andhesaid, Take heed that ye be notdeceived: formany shall comeinmyname, saying, Iam Christ ; andthetime draweth near: go ye notthereforeafterthem. Butwhen ye shall hear of warsandcommotions, be notterrified: for these thingsmustfirst come to pass; buttheend is not by and by. Thensaidhe unto them, Nation shall riseagainstnation, andkingdomagainstkingdom: Andgreatearthquakes shall be in divers places, andfamines, andpestilences; and fearful sightsandgreatsigns shall there befromheaven. Butbeforeallthese, they shall laytheirhandsonyou, andpersecute you, delivering you upto the synagogues, and into prisons, being broughtbeforekingsandrulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to youfor a testimony. Settle it thereforeinyourhearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: ForI will giveyou a mouthandwisdom, whichallyouradversaries shall not be able to gainsaynorresist. And ye shall be betrayedbothbyparents, andbrethren, andkinsfolk, andfriends; and some ofyou shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall behatedofall men for my name's sake. But there shall not a hairofyourheadperish. Inyourpatiencepossess ye yoursouls. Andwhen ye shall seeJerusalemcompassedwitharmies, thenknowthatthedesolationthereof is nigh. Then let them which are inJudeafleetothemountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let notthem that are inthecountriesenterthereinto. Forthesebe the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Butwoe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, inthosedays! for there shall begreatdistressintheland, andwrathuponthispeople. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captiveintoallnations: andJerusalem shall be trodden downof the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall besignsin the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; andupontheearthdistress of nations, withperplexity; the seaand the wavesroaring; Men's hearts failing themforfear, and for looking after those things which are coming ontheearth: forthepowers of heaven shall be shaken. Andthen shall they seetheSon of mancomingin a cloudwithpowerandgreatglory. And when these thingsbegin to come to pass, then look up, and lift upyourheads; foryourredemption draweth nigh. Andhe spaketo thema parable; Beholdthe fig tree, andallthetrees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and knowof your own selvesthatsummerisnow nigh at hand. Solikewiseye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye thatthekingdom of Godis nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, Thisgeneration shall not pass away, tillall be fulfilled. Heavenandearth shall pass away: butmywords shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any timeyourhearts be overchargedwithsurfeiting, anddrunkenness, andcares of this life, and so thatdaycomeuponyouunawares. Foras a snare shall it comeonall them that dwellon the face of thewholeearth. Watch ye therefore, and prayalways, that ye may be accounted worthy to escapeall these things that shall come to pass, and to standbeforetheSon of man. Andin thedaytimehe wasteachinginthetemple; andat nighthe went out, and abodeinthemountthat is called the mount of Olives. Andallthepeoplecame early in the morningtohiminthetemple, for to hearhim.
