Andagainhe enteredintoCapernaumafter some days; andit was noisedthathe wasinthe house. Andstraightwaymanywere gathered together, insomuch thatthere was no room to receive them, no, not so much asaboutthedoor: andhe preachedthewordunto them. Andthey comeuntohim, bringingone sick of the palsy, which was borneoffour. Andwhen they couldnotcome nighunto himforthepress, they uncoveredtheroofwherehe was: andwhen they had broken it up, they let downthebedwhereinthesick of the palsylay. WhenJesussawtheirfaith, he saidunto thesick of the palsy, Son, thysins be forgiventhee. Butthere werecertainof thescribessittingthere, andreasoningintheirhearts, Whydoth this man thusspeakblasphemies? whocanforgivesinsbutGodonly? Andimmediatelywhen Jesusperceivedin hisspiritthatthey soreasonedwithinthemselves, he saidunto them, Whyreason ye these thingsinyourhearts? Whetheris it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiventhee; or to say, Arise, and take upthybed, andwalk? Butthat ye may knowthattheSon of manhathpoweronearth to forgivesins, (he saithto thesick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take upthybed, and go thy wayintothinehouse. Andimmediatelyhe arose, took upthebed, andwent forthbeforethem all; insomuch thatthey were allamazed, andglorifiedGod, saying, We neversawit on this fashion. Andhe went forthagainbythesea side; andallthemultituderesorteduntohim, andhe taughtthem. Andas he passed by, he sawLevithe son of Alphaeussittingatthereceipt of custom, andsaidunto him, Followme. Andhe aroseand followedhim. Andit came to pass, that, asJesussat at meatinhishouse, manypublicansandsinnerssat also together withJesusandhisdisciples: forthere weremany, andthey followedhim. Andwhen thescribesandPhariseessawhimeatwithpublicansandsinners, they saidunto hisdisciples, How is itthathe eatethanddrinkethwithpublicansandsinners? WhenJesusheard it, he saithunto them, They that are wholehavenoneed of the physician, but they that are sick: I camenot to call the righteous, butsinnerstorepentance. Andthedisciplesof JohnandofthePhariseesused to fast: andthey comeandsayunto him, Whydo thedisciplesof JohnandofthePhariseesfast, butthydisciplesfastnot? AndJesussaidunto them, Canthechildren of thebridechamberfast, whilethebridegroomiswiththem? as long astheyhavethebridegroomwiththem, they cannotfast. But the days will come, whenthebridegroom shall be taken awayfromthem, andthen shall they fastinthosedays. No manalsoseweth a piece of newclothon an oldgarment: elsethe new piece that filled it up taketh away from theold, and the rent is madeworse. And no manputtethnewwineintooldbottles: elsethenewwine doth burstthebottles, andthewine is spilled, andthebottles will be marred: butnewwine must be putintonewbottles. Andit came to pass, that hewentthroughthecorn fieldsonthesabbath day; andhisdisciplesbegan, as they went, to plucktheears of corn. AndthePhariseessaidunto him, Behold, whydothey onthesabbathday that whichis not lawful? Andhesaidunto them, Have ye neverreadwhatDaviddid, when he hadneed, and was hungry, he, andthey that were withhim? How he wentintothehouse of Godin the days of Abiatharthe high priest, and did eattheshewbread, which is not lawful to eatbut for thepriests, andgavealso to them which werewithhim? Andhe saidunto them, Thesabbath was madeforman, and notmanforthesabbath: ThereforetheSon of manisLordalso of thesabbath.
