And, behold, they broughtto hima man sick of the palsy, lyingona bed: andJesusseeingtheirfaithsaidunto thesick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thysins be forgiventhee. And, behold, certainof thescribessaidwithinthemselves, This man blasphemeth. AndJesusknowingtheirthoughtssaid, Whereforethinkyeevilinyourhearts? Forwhetheriseasier, to say, Thy sins be forgiventhee; or to say, Arise, andwalk? Butthat ye may knowthattheSon of manhathpoweronearth to forgivesins, ( thensaithhe to thesick of the palsy,) Arise, take upthybed, andgountothinehouse. Andhe arose, and departedtohishouse. Butwhen themultitudessaw it, they marveled, andglorifiedGod, which had givensuchpowerunto men. Andas Jesuspassed forthfrom thence, he sawa man, namedMatthew, sittingatthereceipt of custom: andhe saithunto him, Follow me. Andhearose, and followedhim. Andit came to pass, as Jesussat at meatinthehouse, behold, manypublicansandsinnerscameand sat downwith himandhisdisciples. Andwhen thePhariseessaw it, they saidunto hisdisciples, WhyeatethyourMasterwithpublicansandsinners? Butwhen Jesusheard that, he saidunto them, They that be wholeneednot a physician, but they that are sick. Butgo ye and learnwhat that meaneth, I will have mercy, andnotsacrifice: for I am notcome to call the righteous, butsinnerstorepentance. Thencameto himthedisciplesof John, saying, Whydo weandthePhariseesfastoft, butthydisciplesfastnot? AndJesussaidunto them, Canthechildren of thebridechambermourn, as long asthebridegroomiswiththem? but the days will come, whenthebridegroom shall be takenfromthem, andthen shall they fast. No manputteth a piece of newclothunto an oldgarment, for that which is put in to fill it uptakethfromthegarment, and the rentis made worse. Neither do men putnewwineintooldbottles: elsethebottlesbreak, andthewine runneth out, andthebottlesperish: but they putnewwineintonewbottles, andboth are preserved. While hespakethese thingsunto them, behold, there camea certainruler, andworshipedhim, saying, Mydaughteris even now dead: butcomeandlaythyhanduponher, andshe shall live. AndJesusarose, and followedhim, and so did hisdisciples. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of bloodtwelveyears, camebehind him, and touchedthehemof hisgarment: Forshe saidwithinherself, IfI may buttouchhisgarment, I shall be whole. ButJesusturned him about, andwhen he sawher, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thyfaith hath made thee whole. Andthewomanwas made wholefromthathour. Andwhen Jesuscameintotheruler's house, andsawtheminstrelsandthepeoplemaking a noise, He saidunto them, Give place: forthemaid is not dead, butsleepeth. Andthey laughed him to scorn. Butwhenthepeoplewere put forth, he went in, and tookherby thehand, andthemaidarose. Andthefamehereofwent abroadintoallthatland. Andwhen Jesusdepartedthence, twoblind menfollowedhim, crying, andsaying, Thou sonof David, have mercyon us. Andwhen he was comeintothehouse, theblind mencameto him: andJesussaithunto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? Theysaidunto him, Yea, Lord. Thentouchedhe theireyes, saying, According to yourfaith be it unto you. Andtheireyeswere opened; andJesusstraitly chargedthem, saying, See that no manknow it. Butthey, when they were departed, spread abroad his fameinallthatcountry. Astheywent out, behold, they broughtto hima dumbmanpossessed with a devil. Andwhen thedevilwas cast out, thedumbspake: andthemultitudesmarveled, saying, It was neversoseeninIsrael. ButthePhariseessaid, He casteth outdevilsthroughtheprinceof thedevils. AndJesuswent aboutallthecitiesandvillages, teachingintheirsynagogues, andpreachingthegospelof thekingdom, andhealingeverysicknessandeverydiseaseamongthepeople. Butwhen he sawthemultitudes, he was moved with compassiononthem, becausethey fainted, andwere scattered abroad, assheephavingnoshepherd. Thensaithhe unto hisdisciples, Theharvesttruly is plenteous, butthelaborers are few; Pray ye thereforetheLord of theharvest, that he will send forthlaborersintohisharvest.
