Andit came to pass, that whenJesushad finishedthesesayings, he departedfromGalilee, andcameintothecoastsof JudeabeyondJordan; Andgreatmultitudesfollowedhim; andhe healedthemthere. ThePhariseesalsocameunto him, temptinghim, andsayingunto him, Is it lawfulfor a manto put awayhiswifeforeverycause? Andheansweredand saidunto them, Have ye notread, that he which made them at the beginningmadethemmaleandfemale, Andsaid, For this cause shall a manleavefatherandmother, and shall cleave to hiswife: and they twain shall beoneflesh Wherefore they are no moretwain, butoneflesh. WhatthereforeGod hath joined together, let notman put asunder. They sayunto him, Whydid Mosesthencommandto givea writingof divorcement, andto put her away He saithunto them, Mosesbecause of the hardness of your heartssufferedyou to put awayyourwives: butfrom the beginning it wasnotso. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put awayhiswife, except it be forfornication, and shall marryanother, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. Hisdisciplessayunto him, Ifthecaseof themanbesowith his wife, it is not goodto marry. Buthesaidunto them, All men cannot receivethissaying, save they to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs, which were sobornfrom their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchsofmen: and there beeunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. Thenwere there broughtunto himlittle children, thathe should put his handson them, andpray: andthedisciplesrebukedthem. ButJesussaid, Suffer little children, andforbidthemnot, to comeuntome: for of suchisthekingdom of heaven. Andhe laid his handson them, and departedthence. And, behold, onecameand saidunto him, GoodMaster, whatgood thingshall I do, thatI may haveeternallife? Andhesaidunto him, Whycallest thou megood? there is nonegoodbutone, that is, God: butif thou wiltenterintolife, keepthecommandments. He saithunto him, Which? Jesussaid, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt notsteal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honorthyfatherand thy mother: and, Thou shalt lovethyneighborasthyself. Theyoung mansaithunto him, Allthese thingshave I keptfrommyyouthup: whatlackI yet? Jesussaidunto him, If thou wiltbeperfect, go and sell that thou hast, andgive to the poor, and thou shalt havetreasureinheaven: andcome and followme. Butwhen theyoung manheardthat saying, he went awaysorrowful: forhe hadgreatpossessions. ThensaidJesusunto hisdisciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardlyenterintothekingdom of heaven. Andagain I say unto you, It iseasier for a camel to gothrough the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enterintothekingdom of God. Whenhisdisciplesheard it, they were exceedinglyamazed, saying, Whothencanbe saved? ButJesusbeheld them, and saidunto them, Withmenthisisimpossible; butwithGod all thingsarepossible. ThenansweredPeterand saidunto him, Behold, wehave forsakenall, andfollowedthee; whatshall wehavetherefore? AndJesussaidunto them, Verily I say unto you, Thatye which have followedme, intheregenerationwhentheSon of man shall sitin the throne of hisglory, yealso shall situpontwelvethrones, judgingthetwelvetribes of Israel. And every onethat hath forsakenhouses, orbrethren, orsisters, orfather, ormother, orwife, orchildren, orlands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inheriteverlastinglife. Butmany that are first shall belast; and the last shall be first.
