O Israel, returnuntothe LORDthy God; forthou hast fallenby thine iniquity. Takewithyou words, and turntothe LORD: sayuntohim, Take awayalliniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we renderthe calvesof our lips. Asshurshall notsaveus; we will notrideuponhorses: neitherwill we sayany moreto the workof our hands, Ye are our gods: forin thee the fatherlessfindeth mercy. I will healtheir backsliding, I will lovethem freely: formine angeris turned awayfromhim. I will beas the dewunto Israel: he shall growas the lily, and cast forthhis rootsas Lebanon. His branchesshall spread, and his beautyshall beas the olive tree, and his smellas Lebanon. They that dwellunder his shadowshall return; they shall revive as the corn, and growas the vine: the scentthereof shall be as the wineof Lebanon. Ephraim shall say , Whathave I to do any morewith idols? Ihave heard him , and observedhim: I am like a greenfir tree. Fromme is thy fruitfound. Who is wise, and he shall understandthese things ? prudent, and he shall knowthem? forthe waysof the LORD are right, and the justshall walkin them: but the transgressorsshall falltherein.
