Of the oaksof Bashanhave they madethine oars; the companyof the Ashuriteshave madethy benches of ivory, brought out of the islesof Chittim. Fine linenwith embroidered workfrom Egyptwasthat which thou spreadest forthto bethy sail; blueand purplefrom the islesof Elishahwasthat which coveredthee. The inhabitantsof Zidonand Arvadwerethy mariners: thy wise men , O Tyrus, that werein thee, were thy pilots. The ancientsof Gebaland the wise men thereof werein thee thy caulkers: allthe shipsof the seawith their marinerswerein thee to occupythy merchandise. They of Persiaand of Ludand of Phutwerein thine army, thy menof war: they hangedthe shieldand helmetin thee; theyset forththy comeliness. The menof Arvadwith thine army were uponthy wallsround about, and the Gammadimswerein thy towers: they hangedtheir shieldsuponthy wallsround about; theyhave made thy beauty perfect. Tarshish was thy merchantby reason of the multitudeof all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they tradedin thy fairs. Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they tradedthe personsof menand vesselsof brassin thy market. They of the houseof Togarmahtradedin thy fairswith horsesand horsemenand mules. The menof Dedan were thy merchants; manyisles were the merchandiseof thine hand: they broughtthee for a presenthornsof ivoryand ebony. Syria was thy merchantby reason of the multitudeof the wares of thy making: they occupiedin thy fairswith emeralds, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate. Judah, and the landof Israel, they were thy merchants: they tradedin thy marketwheatof Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm. Damascus was thy merchantin the multitudeof the wares of thy making, for the multitudeof allriches; in the wineof Helbon, and whitewool. Danalso and Javangoing to and frooccupiedin thy fairs: brightiron, cassia, and calamus, werein thy market. Dedan was thy merchantin preciousclothesfor chariots. Arabia, and allthe princesof Kedar, theyoccupied withthee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants. The merchantsof Shebaand Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupiedin thy fairswith chiefof allspices, and with allpreciousstones, and gold. Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy caulkers, and the occupiersof thy merchandise, and allthy menof war, that are in thee, and in allthy companywhich is in the midstof thee, shall fallinto the midstof the seasin the dayof thy ruin. The suburbsshall shakeat the soundof the cryof thy pilots. And allthat handlethe oar, the mariners, and allthe pilotsof the sea, shall come downfrom their ships, they shall standuponthe land; And shall cause their voiceto be heardagainstthee, and shall crybitterly, and shall cast updustupontheir heads, they shall wallow themselvesin the ashes: And they shall make themselves utterly baldforthee, and girdthem with sackcloth, and they shall weepforthee with bitternessof heart and bitterwailing. And in their wailingthey shall take upa lamentationforthee, and lamentoverthee, saying , What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyedin the midstof the sea? When thy wareswent forthout of the seas, thou filledstmanypeople; thou didst enrichthe kingsof the earthwith the multitudeof thy richesand of thy merchandise. In the time when thou shalt be brokenby the seasin the depthsof the watersthy merchandiseand allthy companyin the midstof thee shall fall. Allthe inhabitantsof the islesshall be astonishedatthee, and their kingsshall be sore afraid, they shall be troubledin their countenance. The merchantsamong the peopleshall hissatthee; thou shalt bea terror, and never shalt be any more.
