Again in the ninthyear, in the tenthmonth, in the tenth day of the month, the wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Sonof man, writethee the nameof the day, even of thissameday: the kingof Babylonsethimself againstJerusalemthissameday. And uttera parableuntothe rebellioushouse, and sayuntothem, Thussaiththe LordGOD; Set ona pot, set it on, and alsopourwaterinto it: Gatherthe piecesthereof intoit, even everygoodpiece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choicebones. Takethe choiceof the flock, and burnalsothe bonesunderit, and make it boilwell, andlet them seethethe bonesof it therein. Whereforethussaiththe LordGOD; Woeto the bloodycity, to the potwhosescum is therein, and whose scumis notgone outofit! bring it outpieceby piece; let nolotfalluponit. Forher bloodisin the midstof her; she setit uponthe topof a rock; she pouredit notuponthe ground, to coverit with dust; That it might cause furyto come upto takevengeance; I have sether blooduponthe topof a rock, that it should notbe covered. Thereforethussaiththe LordGOD; Woeto the bloodycity! Iwill evenmake the pile for firegreat. Heap onwood, kindlethe fire, consumethe flesh, and spice it well, and let the bonesbe burned. Then setit emptyuponthe coalsthereof, thatthe brassof it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthinessof it may be molteninit, that the scumof it may be consumed. She hath wearied herself with lies, and her greatscumwent not forthout ofher: her scum shall be in the fire. In thy filthiness is lewdness: becauseI have purgedthee, and thou wast notpurged, thou shalt notbe purgedfrom thy filthinessany more, tillI have caused my furyto restupon thee. Ithe LORDhave spoken it : it shall come to pass, and I will do it ; I will notgo back, neitherwill I spare, neitherwill I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judgethee, saiththe LordGOD. Also the wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Sonof man, behold, I take awayfromthee the desireof thine eyeswith a stroke: yet neithershalt thou mournnorweep, neithershall thy tearsrun down. Forbearto cry, makenomourningfor the dead, bindthe tire of thine headuponthee, and put onthy shoesupon thy feet, and covernot thy lips, and eatnotthe breadof men. So I spokeuntothe peoplein the morning: and at evenmy wifedied; and I didin the morningasI was commanded. And the peoplesaiduntome, Wilt thou nottellus whatthese things are to us, thatthoudoest so ? Then I answeredthem, The wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Speakunto the houseof Israel, Thussaiththe LordGOD; Behold, I will profanemy sanctuary, the excellencyof your strength, the desireof your eyes, and that which your soulpitieth; and your sonsand your daughterswhomye have leftshall fallby the sword. And ye shall doasI have done: ye shall notcover your lips, noreatthe breadof men. And your tires shall be uponyour heads, and your shoesupon your feet: ye shall notmournnorweep; but ye shall pine awayfor your iniquities, and mournonetowardanother. Thus Ezekielisunto you a sign: according to allthathe hath doneshall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall knowthatI am the LordGOD. Also, thousonof man, shall it not be in the daywhen I takefromthem their strength, the joyof their glory, the desireof their eyes, and that whereupon they settheir minds, their sonsand their daughters, That he that escapethin thatdayshall comeuntothee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears? In thatdayshall thy mouthbe openedto him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt bea signunto them; and they shall knowthatI am the LORD.
