And the wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Sonof man, setthy facetowardJerusalem, and drop thy word towardthe holy places, and prophesyagainstthe landof Israel, And sayto the landof Israel, Thussaiththe LORD; Behold, I am againstthee, and will draw forthmy swordout of his sheath, and will cut offfromthee the righteousand the wicked. Seeing thenthatI will cut offfromthee the righteousand the wicked, thereforeshall my swordgo forthout of his sheathagainstallfleshfrom the southto the north: That allfleshmay knowthatIthe LORDhave drawn forthmy swordout of his sheath: it shall notreturnany more. Sightherefore, thousonof man, with the breakingof thy loins; and with bitternesssighbefore their eyes. And it shall be, whenthey sayuntothee, Whereforesighestthou? that thou shalt answer, Forthe tidings; becauseit cometh: and everyheartshall melt, and allhandsshall be feeble, and everyspiritshall faint, and allkneesshall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saiththe LordGOD. Again the wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Sonof man, prophesy, and say, Thussaiththe LORD; Say, A sword, a swordis sharpened, and alsofurbished: It is sharpenedtomake a sore slaughter; it is furbishedthatit may glitter: should we thenmake mirth? it contemneththe rodof my son, as everytree. And he hath givenit to be furbished, that it may be handled: thisswordis sharpened, and itis furbished, to giveit into the handof the slayer. Cryand howl, sonof man: foritshall beupon my people, it shall be upon allthe princesof Israel: terrorsby reason ofthe swordshall beuponmy people: smitethereforeupon thy thigh. Because it is a trial, and whatif the sword contemneventhe rod? it shall beno more , saiththe LordGOD. Thoutherefore, sonof man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the swordbe doubledthe third time, the swordof the slain: it is the swordof the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers. I have setthe pointof the swordagainstalltheir gates, that their heartmay faint, and their ruinsbe multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped upfor the slaughter. Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoeverthy face is set. Iwill alsosmitemine hands together, and I will cause my furyto rest: Ithe LORDhave said it . The wordof the LORDcameuntome again, saying, Also, thousonof man, appointthee twoways, that the swordof the kingof Babylonmay come: both twainshall come forthout of one land: and choosethou a place, choose it at the headof the wayto the city. Appointa way, that the swordmay cometoRabbathof the Ammonites, and toJudahin Jerusalemthe defensed. Forthe kingof Babylonstoodatthe partingof the way, at the headof the twoways, to usedivination: he made his arrows bright, he consultedwith images, he lookedin the liver. At his right handwasthe divinationfor Jerusalem, to appointcaptains, to openthe mouthin the slaughter, to lift upthe voicewith shouting, to appoint battering ramsagainstthe gates, to casta mount, and to builda fort. And it shall beunto them as a falsedivinationin their sight, to them that have swornoaths: but hewill call to remembrancethe iniquity, that they may be taken. Thereforethussaiththe LordGOD; Becauseye have made your iniquityto be remembered, in that your transgressionsare discovered, so that in allyour doingsyour sinsdo appear; because, I say , that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be takenwith the hand. And thou, profanewickedprinceof Israel, whosedayis come, wheniniquity shall have an end, Thussaiththe LordGOD; Removethe diadem, and take offthe crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. I willoverturn, overturn, overturn, it: anditshall beno more , untilhe comewhoserightit is; and I will giveit him . And thou, sonof man, prophesyand say, Thussaiththe LordGODconcerningthe Ammonites, and concerningtheir reproach; even saythou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consumebecause ofthe glittering: While they seevanityunto thee, while they divinea lieunto thee, to bringthee uponthe necksof them that are slain, of the wicked, whosedayis come, whentheir iniquity shall have an end. Shall I cause it to returnintohis sheath? I will judgethee in the placewherethou wast created, in the landof thy nativity. And I will pour outmine indignationuponthee, I will blowagainstthee in the fireof my wrath, and deliverthee into the handof brutishmen, and skillfulto destroy. Thou shalt befor fuelto the fire; thy bloodshall bein the midstof the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: forIthe LORDhave spoken it .
