Oh thatmy headwerewaters, and mine eyesa fountainof tears, that I might weepdayand nightforthe slainof the daughterof my people! Oh that I hadin the wildernessa lodging placeof wayfaring men; that I might leavemy people, and gofromthem! forthey be alladulterers, an assemblyof treacherous men. And they bendtheir tongues like their bow for lies: but they are notvaliantfor the truthupon the earth; forthey proceedfrom eviltoevil, and they knownotme, saiththe LORD. Take ye heedevery oneof his neighbor, and trustye notinanybrother: foreverybrotherwill utterly supplant, and everyneighborwill walkwith slanders. And they will deceiveevery onehis neighbor, and will notspeakthe truth: they have taughttheir tongueto speaklies, and weary themselvesto commit iniquity. Thine habitation is in the midstof deceit; through deceitthey refuseto knowme, saiththe LORD. Thereforethussaiththe LORDof hosts, Behold, I will meltthem, and trythem; forhowshall I doforthe daughterof my people? Their tongue is as an arrowshot out; it speakethdeceit: one speakethpeaceablytohis neighborwith his mouth, but in hearthe layethhis wait. Shall I notvisitthem forthese things ? saiththe LORD: shall notmy soulbe avengedon sucha nationas this? Forthe mountainswill I take upa weepingand wailing, and forthe habitationsof the wildernessa lamentation, becausethey are burned up, so that nonecan pass through them ; neithercan men hearthe voiceof the cattle; both the fowlof the heavensand the beastare fled; they are gone. And I will makeJerusalemheaps, and a denof dragons; and I will makethe citiesof Judahdesolate, withoutan inhabitant. Who is the wiseman, that may understandthis? and who is he towhom the mouthof the LORDhath spoken, that he may declareit, forwhatthe landperisheth and is burned uplike a wilderness, that nonepasseth through? And the LORDsaith, Becausethey have forsakenmy lawwhichI setbeforethem, and have notobeyedmy voice, neitherwalkedtherein; But have walkedafterthe imaginationof their own heart, and afterBaalim, whichtheir fatherstaughtthem: Thereforethussaiththe LORDof hosts, the Godof Israel; Behold, I will feedthem, even thispeople, with wormwood, and give them waterof gallto drink. I will scatterthem also among the heathen, whomneithertheynor their fathershave known: and I will senda swordafterthem, tillI have consumedthem. Thussaiththe LORDof hosts, Considerye, and callfor the mourning women, that they may come; and sendforcunning women , that they may come: And let them make haste, and take upa wailingforus, that our eyesmay run downwith tears, and our eyelidsgush outwith waters. Fora voiceof wailingis heardout of Zion, Howare we spoiled! we are greatlyconfounded, becausewe have forsakenthe land, becauseour dwellingshave cast us out. Yethearthe wordof the LORD, O ye women, and let your earreceivethe wordof his mouth, and teachyour daughterswailing, and every oneher neighborlamentation. Fordeathis come upinto our windows, and is enteredinto our palaces, to cut offthe childrenfrom without, and the young menfrom the streets. Speak, Thussaiththe LORD, Even the carcassesof menshall fallas dunguponthe openfield, and as the handfulafterthe harvest man, and noneshall gather them . Thussaiththe LORD, Let notthe wise man gloryin his wisdom, neitherlet the mighty man gloryin his might, let notthe rich man gloryin his riches: Butlet him that gloriethgloryin this, that he understandethand knowethme, thatI am the LORDwhich exerciselovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: forin these things I delight, saiththe LORD. Behold, the dayscome, saiththe LORD, that I will punishall them which are circumcisedwith the uncircumcised; Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the childrenof Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmostcorners, that dwellin the wilderness: forall these nations are uncircumcised, and allthe houseof Israel are uncircumcisedin the heart.
