Then saidthe LORDuntome, ThoughMosesand Samuelstoodbeforeme, yet my mind could not be towardthispeople: cast them out ofmy sight, and let them go forth. And it shall come to pass, ifthey sayuntothee, Whithershall we go forth? then thou shalt tellthem, Thussaiththe LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity. And I will appointoverthem fourkinds, saiththe LORD: the swordto slay, and the dogsto tear, and the fowlsof the heaven, and the beastsof the earth, to devourand destroy. And I will causethem to be removedinto allkingdomsof the earth, because ofManassehthe sonof Hezekiahkingof Judah, for that whichhe didin Jerusalem. Forwhoshall have pityuponthee, O Jerusalem? or whoshall bemoanthee? or whoshall go asideto askhow thou doest? Thouhast forsakenme, saiththe LORD, thou art gonebackward: therefore will I stretch outmy handagainstthee, and destroythee; I am wearywith repenting. And I will fanthem with a fanin the gatesof the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroymy people, since they returnnotfrom their ways. Their widowsare increasedto me above the sandof the seas: I have broughtupon them againstthe motherof the young mena spoilerat noonday: I have caused him to falluponit suddenly, and terrorsupon the city. She that hath bornesevenlanguisheth: she hath given upthe ghost; her sunis gone downwhile it was yet day: she hath been ashamedand confounded: and the residueof them will I deliverto the swordbeforetheir enemies, saiththe LORD. Woeis me, my mother, thatthou hast borneme a manof strifeand a manof contentionto the wholeearth! I have neitherlent on usury, normen have lent to me on usury; yet every oneof them doth curseme. The LORDsaid, Verilyit shall be wellwith thy remnant; verilyI will cause the enemyto entreatthee well in the timeof eviland in the timeof affliction. Shall ironbreakthe northernironand the steel? Thy substanceand thy treasureswill I giveto the spoilwithoutprice, and that for allthy sins, even in allthy borders. And I will make thee to passwiththine enemiesinto a land which thou knowestnot: fora fireis kindledin mine anger, which shall burnuponyou. O LORD, thouknowest: rememberme, and visitme, and revengeme of my persecutors; takeme notaway in thy longsuffering: knowthat forthy sake I have sufferedrebuke. Thy wordswere found, and I did eatthem; and thy wordwasunto me the joyand rejoicingof mine heart: forI am calledbythy name, O LORDGodof hosts. I satnotin the assemblyof the mockers, nor rejoiced; I satalonebecauseof thy hand: forthou hast filledme with indignation. Whyismy painperpetual, and my woundincurable, which refusethto be healed? wilt thou be altogetherunto me asa liar, and as waters that fail? Thereforethussaiththe LORD, Ifthou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt standbeforeme: and ifthou take forththe preciousfrom the vile, thou shalt beas my mouth: let them returnuntothee; but returnnotthouuntothem. And I will makethee unto thispeoplea fencedbrazenwall: and they shall fightagainstthee, but they shall notprevailagainst thee: forI am withthee to savethee and to deliverthee, saiththe LORD. And I will deliverthee out of the handof the wicked, and I will redeemthee out of the handof the terrible.
