He lovethtransgressionthat lovethstrife: and he that exaltethhis gateseekethdestruction. He that hath a frowardheartfindethnogood: and he that hath a perversetonguefallethinto mischief. He that begettetha fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the fatherof a foolhath nojoy. A merryheartdoeth good like a medicine: but a brokenspiritdrieththe bones. A wicked man taketha giftout of the bosomto pervertthe waysof judgment. Wisdom is beforehim that hath understanding; but the eyesof a fool are in the endsof the earth. A foolishson is a griefto his father, and bitternessto her that borehim. Alsoto punishthe just is notgood, nor to strikeprincesforequity. He that hath knowledgesparethhis words: and a manof understandingis of an excellentspirit. Evena fool, when he holdeth his peace, is countedwise: and he that shuttethhis lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
