The preparationsof the heartin man, and the answerof the tongue, is from the LORD. Allthe waysof a man are cleanin his own eyes; but the LORDweigheththe spirits. Committhy worksuntothe LORD, and thy thoughtsshall be established. The LORDhath madeall things for himself: yea, eventhe wickedfor the dayof evil. Every one that is proudin heart is an abominationto the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall notbe unpunished. By mercyand truthiniquityis purged: and by the fearof the LORD men departfrom evil. When a man's wayspleasethe LORD, he maketh evenhis enemiesto be at peacewithhim. Better is a littlewith righteousnessthan greatrevenueswithoutright. In the lightof the king's countenance is life; and his favor is as a cloudof the latter rain. How muchbetter is it to getwisdomthan gold! and to getunderstandingrather to be chosenthan silver! The highwayof the upright is to departfrom evil: he that keepethhis waypreservethhis soul. Pride goeth beforedestruction, and a haughtyspiritbeforea fall. An ungodlymandiggeth upevil: and inhis lips there is as a burningfire. A frowardmansowethstrife: and a whispererseparatethchief friends. A violentmanenticethhis neighbor, and leadethhim into the way that is notgood. He shuttethhis eyesto devisefroward things: movinghis lipshe bringeth evil to pass. The hoaryhead is a crownof glory, if it be foundin the wayof righteousness. He that is slowto anger is betterthan the mighty; and he that rulethhis spiritthan he that taketha city. The lotis castinto the lap; but the wholedisposingthereof is of the LORD.
