The proverbsof Solomon. A wisesonmaketh a gladfather: but a foolishson is the heavinessof his mother. Treasuresof wickednessprofitnothing: but righteousnessdeliverethfrom death. The LORDwill notsuffer the soulof the righteousto famish: but he casteth awaythe substanceof the wicked. He becometh poorthat dealeth with a slackhand: but the handof the diligentmaketh rich. He that gatherethin summer is a wiseson: but he that sleepethin harvest is a sonthat causeth shame. Blessings are upon the headof the just: but violencecovereththe mouthof the wicked. The memoryof the just is blessed: but the nameof the wickedshall rot. The wisein heartwill receivecommandments: but a pratingfoolshall fall. He that walkethuprightlywalkethsurely: but he that pervertethhis waysshall be known. He that winkethwith the eyecausethsorrow: but a pratingfoolshall fall. The mouthof a righteous man is a wellof life: but violencecovereththe mouthof the wicked. Hatredstirreth upstrifes: but lovecoverethallsins. In the lipsof him that hath understandingwisdomis found: but a rod is for the backof him that is voidof understanding. Wise men lay upknowledge: but the mouthof the foolish is neardestruction. The rich man's wealth is his strongcity: the destructionof the poor is their poverty. The laborof the righteous tendeth to life: the fruitof the wickedto sin. He is in the wayof lifethat keepethinstruction: but he that refusethreprooferreth. He that hidethhatred with lyinglips, and he that utteretha slander, is a fool. In the multitudeof wordsthere wantethnotsin: but he that refrainethhis lips is wise. The tongueof the just is as choicesilver: the heartof the wicked is little worth. The lipsof the righteousfeedmany: but foolsdiefor wantof wisdom. The blessingof the LORD, itmaketh rich, and he addethnosorrowwithit. It is as sportto a foolto domischief: but a manof understandinghath wisdom. The fearof the wicked, itshall come uponhim: but the desireof the righteousshall be granted. As the whirlwindpasseth, so is the wickedno more : but the righteous is an everlastingfoundation. As vinegarto the teeth, and as smoketo the eyes, so is the sluggardto them that sendhim. The fearof the LORDprolongethdays: but the yearsof the wickedshall be shortened. The hopeof the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectationof the wickedshall perish. The wayof the LORD is strengthto the upright: but destruction shall be to the workersof iniquity. The righteousshall neverbe removed: but the wickedshall notinhabitthe earth. The mouthof the justbringeth forthwisdom: but the frowardtongueshall be cut out. The lipsof the righteousknowwhat is acceptable: but the mouthof the wicked speaketh frowardness.
