And they took their journeyfrom Elim, and allthe congregationof the childrenof Israelcameuntothe wildernessof Sin, which is betweenElimand Sinai, on the fifteenthdayof the secondmonthafter their departing outof the landof Egypt. And the wholecongregationof the childrenof IsraelmurmuredagainstMosesand Aaronin the wilderness: And the childrenof Israelsaiduntothem, Would to Godwe had diedby the handof the LORDin the landof Egypt, when we satbythe fleshpots, and when we did eatbreadto the full; forye have brought us forthintothiswilderness, to killthiswholeassemblywith hunger. Then saidthe LORDuntoMoses, Behold, I will rainbreadfromheavenfor you; and the peopleshall go outand gathera certain rate every day, thatI may provethem, whether they will walkin my law, orno. And it shall come to pass, that on the sixthdaythey shall prepare that whichthey bring in; and it shall betwiceas much asthey gatherdaily. And Mosesand Aaronsaiduntoallthe childrenof Israel, At even, then ye shall knowthatthe LORDhath brought you outfrom the landof Egypt: And in the morning, then ye shall seethe gloryof the LORD; for that he hearethyour murmuringsagainstthe LORD: and what are we, thatye murmuragainstus? And Mosessaid, This shall be , when the LORDshall giveyou in the eveningfleshto eat, and in the morningbreadto the full; for that the LORDhearethyour murmuringswhichyemurmuragainsthim: and what are we? your murmurings are notagainstus, butagainstthe LORD. And MosesspokeuntoAaron, Sayuntoallthe congregationof the childrenof Israel, Come nearbeforethe LORD: forhe hath heardyour murmurings. And it came to pass, as Aaronspokeuntothe wholecongregationof the childrenof Israel, that they lookedtowardthe wilderness, and, behold, the gloryof the LORDappearedin the cloud. And the LORDspokeuntoMoses, saying, I have heardthe murmuringsof the childrenof Israel: speakuntothem, saying, Atevenye shall eatflesh, and in the morningye shall be filledwith bread; and ye shall knowthatI am the LORDyour God. And it came to pass, that at eventhe quailscame up, and coveredthe camp: and in the morningthe dewlayround aboutthe host. And when the dewthat laywas gone up, behold, uponthe faceof the wilderness there lay a smallround thing, as smallas the hoar frostonthe ground. And when the childrenof Israelsaw it , they saidonetoanother, It is manna: forthey knewnotwhatit was . And Mosessaiduntothem, This is the breadwhichthe LORDhath givenyou to eat. This is the thingwhichthe LORDhath commanded, Gatherofit every manaccording tohis eating, an omerfor every man, according to the numberof your persons; takeye every manfor them which are in his tents. And the childrenof Israeldidso, and gathered, some more, some less. And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered muchhad nothing over, and he that gathered littlehad nolack; they gatheredevery manaccording tohis eating. And Mosessaid, Let nomanleaveofit tillthe morning. Notwithstanding they hearkenednotuntoMoses; but someof them leftofit untilthe morning, and it bredworms, and stank: and Moseswas wrothwiththem. And they gatheredit every morning, every manaccording tohis eating: and when the sunwaxed hot, it melted. And it came to pass, that on the sixthdaythey gatheredtwice as muchbread, twoomersfor one man : and allthe rulersof the congregationcameand toldMoses. And he saiduntothem, This is that whichthe LORDhath said, Tomorrow is the restof the holysabbathunto the LORD: bake that whichye will bake today , and seethethatye will seethe; and that whichremaineth overlay upfor you to be keptuntilthe morning. And they laid it uptillthe morning, asMosesbade: and it did notstink, neitherwasthere any wormtherein. And Mosessaid, Eatthat today; fortoday is a sabbathunto the LORD: todayye shall notfindit in the field. Sixdaysye shall gatherit; but on the seventhday, which is the sabbath, in it there shall benone. And it came to pass, that there went out some ofthe peopleon the seventhdayfor to gather, and they foundnone. And the LORDsaiduntoMoses, How longrefuseye to keepmy commandmentsand my laws? See, forthat the LORDhath givenyou the sabbath, thereforehegivethyou on the sixthdaythe breadof two days; abideye every manin his place, let nomango outof his placeon the seventhday. So the peoplerestedon the seventhday. And the houseof Israelcalledthe namethereof Manna: and it was like corianderseed, white; and the tasteof it was like wafers made with honey. And Mosessaid, This is the thingwhichthe LORDcommandeth, Fillan omerofit to be keptfor your generations; thatthey may seethe breadwherewithI have fedyou in the wilderness, when I brought you forthfrom the landof Egypt. And MosessaiduntoAaron, Takeapot, and putan omerfullof mannatherein, and lay it upbeforethe LORD, to be keptfor your generations. Asthe LORDcommandedMoses, so Aaronlaid it upbeforethe Testimony, to be kept. And the childrenof Israeldid eatmannafortyyears, untilthey cametoa landinhabited; they did eatmanna, untilthey cameuntothe bordersof the landof Canaan. Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
