O LORDGod, to whom vengeancebelongeth; O God, to whom vengeancebelongeth, show thyself. Lift up thyself, thou judgeof the earth: rendera rewardtothe proud. LORD, how longshall the wicked, how longshall the wickedtriumph? How long shall they utter and speakhard things? and allthe workersof iniquityboast themselves? They break in piecesthy people, O LORD, and afflictthine heritage. They slaythe widowand the stranger, and murderthe fatherless. Yet they say, The LORDshall notsee, neithershall the Godof Jacobregard it . Understand, ye brutishamong the people: and ye fools, whenwill ye be wise? He that plantedthe ear, shall he nothear? he that formedthe eye, shall he notsee? He that chastiseththe heathen, shall nothe correct? he that teachethmanknowledge, shall not he know ? The LORDknoweththe thoughtsof man, thatthey are vanity. Blessed is the manwhomthou chastenest, O LORD, and teachesthim out of thy law; That thou mayest give him restfrom the daysof adversity, untilthe pitbe diggedfor the wicked. Forthe LORDwill notcast offhis people, neitherwill he forsakehis inheritance. Butjudgmentshall returnuntorighteousness: and allthe uprightin heartshall followit. Whowill rise upfor me againstthe evildoers? or whowill stand upfor me againstthe workersof iniquity? Unlessthe LORD had been my help, my soulhad almostdweltin silence. WhenI said, My footslippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitudeof my thoughtswithinme thy comfortsdelightmy soul. Shall the throneof iniquityhave fellowshipwith thee, which framethmischiefbya law? They gather themselves togetheragainstthe soulof the righteous, and condemnthe innocentblood. But the LORDismy defense; and my God is the rockof my refuge. And he shall bringuponthem their own iniquity, and shall cut them offin their own wickedness; yea , the LORDour Godshall cut them off.
