A Psalmof David, when he wasin the wildernessof Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seekthee: my soulthirstethfor thee, my fleshlongethfor thee in a dryand thirstyland, where nowateris; To seethy powerand thy glory, so as I have seenthee in the sanctuary. Becausethy lovingkindness is betterthan life, my lipsshall praisethee. Thuswill I blessthee while I live: I will lift upmy handsin thy name. My soulshall be satisfiedas with marrowand fatness; and my mouthshall praise thee with joyfullips: WhenI rememberthee uponmy bed, and meditateon thee in the night watches. Becausethou hast beenmy help, therefore in the shadowof thy wingswill I rejoice. My soulfolloweth hardafterthee: thy right handupholdethme. But those that seekmy soul, to destroy it , shall gointo the lower partsof the earth. They shall fallbythe sword: they shall bea portionfor foxes. But the kingshall rejoicein God; every onethat swearethby him shall glory: butthe mouthof them that speakliesshall be stopped.
