A Psalmof David, to bring to remembrance. O LORD, rebukeme notin thy wrath: neither chastenme in thy hot displeasure. Forthine arrowsstick fastin me, and thy handpresseth me sore. There is nosoundnessin my fleshbecauseof thine anger; neither is there any restin my bonesbecauseof my sin. Formine iniquitiesare gone overmine head: as a heavyburdenthey are too heavyforme. My woundsstink and are corruptbecauseof my foolishness. I am troubled; I am bowed downgreatly; I gomourningallthe daylong. Formy loinsare filledwith a loathsome disease : and there is nosoundnessin my flesh. I am feebleand sorebroken: I have roaredby reason of the disquietnessof my heart. Lord, allmy desire is beforethee; and my groaningis nothidfromthee. My heartpanteth, my strengthfailethme: as for the lightof mine eyes, italsois gonefromme. My loversand my friendsstand alooffrom my sore; and my kinsmenstandafar off. They also that seek aftermy lifelay snares for me : and they that seekmy hurtspeakmischievous things, and imaginedeceitsallthe daylong. But I, as a deaf man , heardnot; and I was as a dumb man that openethnothis mouth. Thus I wasas a manthathearethnot, and in whose mouth are noreproofs. Forin thee, O LORD, do I hope: thouwilt hear, O Lordmy God. ForI said, Hear me , lest otherwise they should rejoiceover me: when my footslippeth, they magnify themselves againstme. ForI am readyto halt, and my sorrow is continuallybeforeme. ForI will declaremine iniquity; I will be sorryfor my sin. But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hateme wrongfullyare multiplied. They also that renderevilforgoodare mine adversaries; becauseI follow the thing that good is . Forsakeme not, O LORD: O my God, be notfarfromme. Make hasteto helpme, O Lordmy salvation.
