Praiseye the LORD. O give thanksunto the LORD; for he is good: forhis mercy endureth forever. Whocan utterthe mighty actsof the LORD? who can show forthallhis praise? Blessed are they that keepjudgment, and he that doethrighteousnessat alltimes. Rememberme, O LORD, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people: O visitme with thy salvation; That I may seethe goodof thy chosen, that I may rejoicein the gladnessof thy nation, that I may glorywiththine inheritance. We have sinnedwithour fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. Our fathersunderstoodnotthy wondersin Egypt; they rememberednotthe multitudeof thy mercies; but provoked him atthe sea, even at the Redsea. Nevertheless he savedthem for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty powerto be known. He rebukedthe Redseaalso, and it was dried up: so he ledthem through the depths, as through the wilderness. And he savedthem from the handof him that hated them , and redeemedthem from the handof the enemy. And the waterscoveredtheir enemies: there was notoneofthem left. Then believedthey his words; they sanghis praise. They soonforgothis works; they waitednotfor his counsel: But lusted exceedinglyin the wilderness, and temptedGodin the desert. And he gavethem their request; but sentleannessinto their soul. They enviedMosesalso in the camp, and Aaronthe saintof the LORD. The earthopenedand swallowed upDathan, and coveredthe companyof Abiram. And a firewas kindledin their company; the flameburned upthe wicked. They madea calfin Horeb, and worshipedthe molten image. Thus they changedtheir gloryinto the similitudeof an oxthat eatethgrass. They forgotGodtheir savior, which had donegreat thingsin Egypt; Wondrous worksin the landof Ham, and terrible thingsbythe Redsea. Therefore he saidthat he would destroythem, had notMoseshis chosenstoodbeforehim in the breach, to turn awayhis wrath, lest he should destroy them . Yea, they despisedthe pleasantland, they believednothis word: But murmuredin their tents, and hearkenednotunto the voiceof the LORD. Therefore he lifted uphis handagainst them, to overthrowthem in the wilderness: To overthrowtheir seedalso among the nations, and to scatterthem in the lands. They joined themselvesalso unto Baalpeor, and atethe sacrificesof the dead. Thus they provoked him to angerwith their inventions: and the plaguebroke inupon them. Then stood upPhinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plaguewas stayed. And that was countedunto him for righteousnessunto all generationsforevermore. They angered him also atthe watersof strife, so that it went illwith Mosesfor their sakes: Becausethey provokedhis spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedlywith his lips. They did notdestroythe nations, concerning whomthe LORDcommandedthem: But were mingledamong the heathen, and learnedtheir works. And they servedtheir idols: which werea snareunto them. Yea, they sacrificedtheir sonsand their daughtersunto devils, And shedinnocentblood, even the bloodof their sonsand of their daughters, whomthey sacrificedunto the idolsof Canaan: and the landwas pollutedwith blood. Thus were they defiledwith their own works, and went a whoringwith their own inventions. Therefore was the wrathof the LORDkindledagainst his people, insomuch that he abhorredhis own inheritance. And he gavethem into the handof the heathen; and they that hatedthem ruledover them. Their enemiesalso oppressedthem, and they were brought into subjectionundertheir hand. Manytimesdid he deliverthem; but theyprovoked him with their counsel, and were brought lowfor their iniquity. Nevertheless he regardedtheir affliction, when he heardtheir cry: And he rememberedfor them his covenant, and repentedaccording to the multitudeof his mercies. He madethem also to be pitiedofallthose that carried them captives. Saveus, O LORDour God, and gatherus from amongthe heathen, to give thanksunto thy holyname, and to triumphin thy praise. Blessed be the LORDGodof Israelfromeverlastingtoeverlasting: and let allthe peoplesay, Amen. Praiseye the LORD.
