And Davidarose, and wentwith allthe peoplethat were withhim from Baaleof Judah, to bring upfrom thencethe arkof God, whosenameis calledby the nameof the LORDof hoststhat dwelleth between the cherubims. And they setthe arkof Godupona newcart, and broughtit out of the houseof Abinadabthat was in Gibeah: and Uzzahand Ahio, the sonsof Abinadab, drovethe newcart. And they broughtit out of the houseof Abinadabwhich was at Gibeah, accompanyingthe arkof God: and Ahiowentbeforethe ark. And Davidand allthe houseof Israelplayedbeforethe LORDon allmanner of instruments made of firwood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. And when they cametoNachon's threshingfloor, Uzzahput forth his hand tothe arkof God, and took holdof it; forthe oxenshook it . And the angerof the LORDwas kindledagainst Uzzah; and Godsmotehim therefor his error; and therehe diedbythe arkof God. And Davidwas displeased, becausethe LORDhad madea breachupon Uzzah: and he called the nameof theplacePerez-uzzah tothisday. And Davidwas afraidof the LORDthatday, and said, Howshall the arkof the LORDcometome? So Davidwouldnotremovethe arkof the LORDuntohim intothe cityof David: but Davidcarried it asideinto the houseof Obed-edom the Gittite. And the arkof the LORDcontinuedin the houseof Obed-edom the Gittitethreemonths: and the LORDblessedObed-edom, and allhis household. And it was toldkingDavid, saying, The LORDhath blessedthe houseof Obed-edom, and allthat pertaineth unto him, becauseof the arkof God. So Davidwentand brought upthe arkof Godfrom the houseof Obed-edom into the cityof Davidwith gladness. And it was so , that whenthey that borethe arkof the LORDhad gonesixpaces, he sacrificedoxenand fatlings. And Daviddancedbeforethe LORDwith all his might; and David was girdedwith a linenephod. So Davidand allthe houseof Israelbrought upthe arkof the LORDwith shouting, and with the soundof the trumpet. And asthe arkof the LORDcameinto the cityof David, MichalSaul's daughterlookedthrougha window, and sawkingDavidleapingand dancingbeforethe LORD; and she despisedhim in her heart. And they brought inthe arkof the LORD, and setit in his place, in the midstof the tabernaclethatDavidhad pitchedfor it: and Davidofferedburnt offeringsand peace offeringsbeforethe LORD. And as soon as Davidhad made an endof offeringburnt offeringsand peace offerings, he blessedthe peoplein the nameof the LORDof hosts. And he dealtamong allthe people, even among the wholemultitudeof Israel, as well tothe womenas men, to every oneacakeof bread, and agood piece of flesh , and aflagon of wine . So allthe peopledepartedevery oneto his house. Then Davidreturnedto blesshis household. And Michalthe daughterof Saulcame outto meetDavid, and said, Howgloriouswas the kingof Israeltoday, whouncovered himselftodayin the eyesof the handmaidsof his servants, as oneof the vain fellowsshamelessly uncovereth himself! And DavidsaiduntoMichal, It was beforethe LORD, whichchoseme before thy father, and before allhis house, to appointme ruleroverthe peopleof the LORD, overIsrael: therefore will I playbeforethe LORD. And I will yetbe more vilethan thus, and will bebasein mine own sight: and ofthe maidservantswhichthou hast spokenof, of them shall I be had in honor. Therefore Michalthe daughterof Saulhadnochilduntothe dayof her death.
