And it came to passat the endof two full years, that Pharaohdreamed: and, behold, he stoodbythe river. And, behold, there came upout ofthe riversevenwellfavoredkineand fatfleshed; and they fedin a meadow. And, behold, sevenotherkinecame upafterthem out ofthe river, illfavoredand leanfleshed; and stoodbythe other kineuponthe brinkof the river. And the illfavoredand leanfleshedkinedid eat upthe sevenwellfavoredand fatkine. So Pharaohawoke. And he sleptand dreamedthe second time: and, behold, sevenears of corncame upupon onestalk, rankand good. And, behold, seventhinearsand blastedwith the east windsprung upafterthem. And the seven thinearsdevouredthe sevenrankand fullears. And Pharaohawoke, and, behold, it was a dream. And it came to passin the morningthat his spiritwas troubled; and he sentand called forallthe magiciansof Egypt, and allthe wise menthereof: and Pharaohtoldthem his dream; but there was nonethat could interpretthem unto Pharaoh. Then spokethe chiefbutlerunto Pharaoh, saying, Ido remembermy faultsthis day: Pharaohwas wrothwithhis servants, and putme in wardin the captainof the guard's house, both me and the chiefbaker: And we dreameda dreamin onenight, Iand he; we dreamedeach manaccording to the interpretationof his dream. And there was therewithus a young man, a Hebrew, servantto the captainof the guard; and we toldhim, and he interpretedto us our dreams; to each manaccording to his dreamhe did interpret. And it came to pass, ashe interpretedto us, soit was; me he restoreduntomine office, and him he hanged. Then Pharaohsentand calledJoseph, and they brought him hastilyout ofthe dungeon: and he shaved himself , and changedhis raiment, and came inuntoPharaoh. And PharaohsaiduntoJoseph, I have dreameda dream, and there is nonethat can interpretit: and Ihave heardsayofthee, that thou canst understanda dreamto interpretit. And JosephansweredPharaoh, saying, It is not inme: Godshall give Pharaoh an answerof peace. And PharaohsaiduntoJoseph, In my dream, behold, I stooduponthe bankof the river: And, behold, there came upout ofthe riversevenkine, fatfleshedand wellfavored; and they fedin a meadow: And, behold, sevenotherkinecame upafterthem, poorand veryillfavoredand leanfleshed, suchas I neversawin allthe landof Egyptfor badness: And the leanand the ill favoredkinedid eat upthe firstsevenfatkine: And when they had eaten them up, it could notbe knownthatthey had eatenthem; but they were still ill favored, asat the beginning. So I awoke. And I sawin my dream, and, behold, sevenearscame upin onestalk, fulland good: And, behold, sevenears, withered, thin, and blastedwith the east wind, sprung upafterthem: And the thinearsdevouredthe sevengoodears: and I told this untothe magicians; but there was nonethat could declare it to me. And JosephsaiduntoPharaoh, The dreamof Pharaoh is one: Godhath showedPharaohwhathe is about to do. The sevengoodkine are sevenyears; and the sevengoodears are sevenyears: the dream is one. And the seventhinand ill favoredkinethat came upafterthem are sevenyears; and the sevenemptyearsblastedwith the east windshall besevenyearsof famine. This is the thingwhichI have spokenuntoPharaoh: WhatGod is about to dohe showethunto Pharaoh. Behold, there comesevenyearsof greatplentythroughout allthe landof Egypt: And there shall ariseafterthem sevenyearsof famine; and allthe plentyshall be forgottenin the landof Egypt; and the famineshall consumethe land; And the plentyshall notbe knownin the landby reason ofthatfaminefollowing; forit shall be verygrievous. And forthat the dreamwas doubleduntoPharaohtwice; it is becausethe thing is establishedbyGod, and Godwill shortlybring it to pass. Nowtherefore let Pharaohlook outa mandiscreetand wise, and sethim overthe landof Egypt. Let Pharaohdo this , and let him appointofficersoverthe land, and take up the fifth partof the landof Egyptin the sevenplenteousyears. And let them gatherallthe foodof thosegoodyearsthat come, and lay upcornunderthe handof Pharaoh, and let them keepfoodin the cities. And that foodshall befor storeto the landagainst the sevenyearsof famine, whichshall bein the landof Egypt; that the landperishnotthrough the famine. And the thingwas goodin the eyesof Pharaoh, and in the eyesof allhis servants. And Pharaohsaiduntohis servants, Can we find such a one as this is , a manin whomthe Spiritof God is ? And PharaohsaiduntoJoseph, Forasmuchas Godhath showedthee allthis, there is noneso discreetand wiseas thou art : Thoushalt beovermy house, and according untothy wordshall allmy peoplebe ruled: onlyin the thronewill I be greaterthanthou. And PharaohsaiduntoJoseph, See, I have setthee overallthe landof Egypt. And Pharaohtook offhis ringfromhis hand, and putit uponJoseph's hand, and arrayedhim in vesturesof fine linen, and puta goldchainabouthis neck; And he made him to ridein the secondchariotwhichhe had; and they criedbeforehim, Bow the knee: and he madehim ruler overallthe landof Egypt. And PharaohsaiduntoJoseph, I am Pharaoh, and withoutthee shall nomanlift uphis handor footin allthe landof Egypt. And PharaohcalledJoseph's nameZaphnath-paaneah; and he gavehim to wifeAsenaththe daughterof Poti-pherah priestof On. And Josephwent outover all the landof Egypt. And Joseph was thirtyyearsoldwhen he stoodbeforePharaohkingof Egypt. And Josephwent outfrom the presenceof Pharaoh, and wentthroughout allthe landof Egypt. And in the sevenplenteousyearsthe earthbrought forthby handfuls. And he gathered upallthe foodof the sevenyears, whichwerein the landof Egypt, and laid upthe foodin the cities: the foodof the field, which was round aboutevery city, laid he upin the same. And Josephgatheredcornas the sandof the sea, verymuch, untilhe leftnumbering; for it was withoutnumber. And unto Josephwere borntwosonsbeforethe yearsof faminecame, whichAsenaththe daughterof Poti-pherah priestof Onboreunto him. And Josephcalledthe nameof the firstbornManasseh: ForGod, said he , hath made me forgetallmy toil, and allmy father's house. And the nameof the secondcalledhe Ephraim: ForGodhath caused me to be fruitfulin the landof my affliction. And the sevenyearsof plenteousness, thatwasin the landof Egypt, were ended. And the sevenyearsof dearthbeganto come, according asJosephhad said: and the dearthwasin alllands; but in allthe landof Egyptthere wasbread. And when allthe landof Egyptwas famished, the peoplecriedtoPharaohfor bread: and Pharaohsaidunto allthe Egyptians, GountoJoseph; whathe saithto you, do. And the faminewasoverallthe faceof the earth: And Josephopenedallthe storehouses, and soldunto the Egyptians; and the faminewaxed sorein the landof Egypt. And allcountriescameinto EgypttoJosephfor to buy corn ; becausethat the faminewas so sorein alllands.
