And the LORDvisitedSarahashe had said, and the LORDdidunto Sarahashe had spoken. For Sarahconceived, and boreAbrahama sonin his old age, at the set timeof whichGodhad spokento him. And Abrahamcalledthe nameof his sonthat was bornunto him, whomSarahboreto him, Isaac. And Abrahamcircumcisedhis sonIsaacbeing eightdaysold, asGodhad commandedhim. And Abrahamwas a hundredyearsold, when his sonIsaacwas bornunto him. And Sarahsaid, Godhath mademe to laugh, so that allthat hearwill laughwith me. And she said, Whowould have saidunto Abraham, that Sarahshould have given children suck? forI have born him a sonin his old age. And the childgrew, and was weaned: and Abrahammadea greatfeastthe same daythat Isaacwas weaned. And Sarahsawthe sonof Hagarthe Egyptian, whichshe had bornunto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she saidunto Abraham, Cast outthisbondwomanand her son: forthe sonof thisbondwomanshall notbe heirwithmy son, even withIsaac. And the thingwas very grievousin Abraham's sightbecauseof his son. And GodsaiduntoAbraham, Let it notbe grievousin thy sightbecause ofthe lad, and because ofthy bondwoman; in allthatSarahhath saiduntothee, hearkenunto her voice; forin Isaacshall thy seedbe called. And alsoof the sonof the bondwomanwill I makea nation, becausehe is thy seed. And Abrahamrose up earlyin the morning, and tookbread, and a bottleof water, and gave it untoHagar, putting it onher shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wanderedin the wildernessof Beer-sheba. And the waterwas spentinthe bottle, and she castthe childunderoneof the shrubs. And she went, and sat her downover against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: forshe said, Let me notseethe deathof the child. And she satover against him , and lifted upher voice, and wept. And Godheardthe voiceof the lad; and the angelof GodcalledtoHagarout ofheaven, and saidunto her, Whataileth thee, Hagar? fearnot; forGodhath heardthe voiceof the ladwherehe is . Arise, lift upthe lad, and holdhim inthine hand; forI will makehim a greatnation. And Godopenedher eyes, and she sawa wellof water; and she went, and filledthe bottlewith water, and gave the laddrink. And Godwaswiththe lad; and he grew, and dweltin the wilderness, and becamean archer. And he dweltin the wildernessof Paran: and his mothertookhim a wifeout of the landof Egypt. And it came to passat thattime, that Abimelechand Phicholthe chief captainof his hostspokeuntoAbraham, saying, God is withthee in allthatthoudoest: Nowtherefore swearunto me hereby Godthat thou wilt not deal falselywith me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindnessthatI have doneuntothee, thou shalt dountome, and tothe landwhereinthou hast sojourned. And Abrahamsaid, Iwill swear. And AbrahamreprovedAbimelechbecause ofa wellof water, whichAbimelech's servantshad violently taken away. And Abimelechsaid, I knownotwhohath donethisthing: neitherdidst thoutellme, neitheryetheardI of it , buttoday. And Abrahamtooksheepand oxen, and gavethem unto Abimelech; and bothof them madea covenant. And Abrahamsetsevenewe lambsof the flockby themselves. And AbimelechsaiduntoAbraham, What mean thesesevenewe lambswhichthou hast setby themselves? And he said, For these sevenewe lambsshalt thou takeof my hand, thatthey may bea witnessunto me, thatI have diggedthiswell. Whereforehe calledthatplaceBeer-sheba; becausetherethey sworebothof them. Thus they madea covenantat Beer-sheba: then Abimelechrose up, and Phicholthe chief captainof his host, and they returnedintothe landof the Philistines. And Abraham planteda grovein Beer-sheba, and calledthereon the nameof the LORD, the everlastingGod. And Abrahamsojournedin the Philistines' landmanydays.
