Zedekiah was oneand twentyyearsoldwhen he began to reign, and he reignedelevenyearsin Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutalthe daughterof Jeremiahof Libnah. And he did that which was evilin the eyesof the LORD, according to allthatJehoiakimhad done. Forthroughthe angerof the LORDit came to passin Jerusalemand Judah, tillhe had cast them outfromhis presence, that Zedekiahrebelledagainst the kingof Babylon. And it came to passin the ninthyearof his reign, in the tenthmonth, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babyloncame, heand allhis army, againstJerusalem, and pitchedagainstit, and builtfortsagainstit round about. So the citywas besiegeduntothe eleventhyearof kingZedekiah. And in the fourthmonth, in the ninth day of the month, the faminewas sorein the city, so that there wasnobreadfor the peopleof the land. Then the citywas broken up, and allthe menof warfled, and went forthout of the cityby nightby the wayof the gatebetweenthe two walls, which was bythe king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were bythe cityround about:) and they wentby the wayof the plain. But the armyof the Chaldeanspursuedafterthe king, and overtookZedekiahin the plainsof Jericho; and allhis armywas scatteredfromhim. Then they tookthe king, and carried him upuntothe kingof Babylonto Riblahin the landof Hamath; where he gavejudgmentuponhim. And the kingof Babylonslewthe sonsof Zedekiahbefore his eyes: he slewalsoallthe princesof Judahin Riblah. Then he put outthe eyesof Zedekiah; and the kingof Babylonboundhim in chains, and carriedhim to Babylon, and puthim in prisontillthe dayof his death. Now in the fifthmonth, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenthyearof Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylon, cameNebuzaradan, captainof the guard, which servedthe kingof Babylon, into Jerusalem, And burnedthe houseof the LORD, and the king's house; and allthe housesof Jerusalem, and allthe housesof the great men , burnedhe with fire: And allthe armyof the Chaldeans, that were withthe captainof the guard, broke downallthe wallsof Jerusalemround about. Then Nebuzaradanthe captainof the guardcarried away captive certain of the poorof the people, and the residueof the peoplethat remainedin the city, and those that fell away, thatfelltothe kingof Babylon, and the restof the multitude. But Nebuzaradanthe captainof the guardleft certain of the poorof the landfor vinedressersand for husbandmen. Also the pillarsof brassthat were in the houseof the LORD, and the bases, and the brazenseathat was in the houseof the LORD, the Chaldeansbroke, and carriedallthe brassof them to Babylon. The caldronsalso, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and allthe vesselsof brasswherewiththey ministered, took they away. And the basins, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, tookthe captainof the guardaway. The twopillars, onesea, and twelvebrazenbullsthat were underthe bases, whichkingSolomonhad madein the houseof the LORD: the brassof allthesevesselswaswithoutweight. And concerning the pillars, the heightof onepillar was eighteencubits; and a filletof twelvecubitsdid compassit; and the thicknessthereof was fourfingers: it was hollow. And a chapiterof brass was uponit; and the heightof onechapiter was fivecubits, with networkand pomegranatesuponthe chapitersround about, all of brass. The secondpillaralso and the pomegranates were like unto these. And there wereninetyand sixpomegranateson a side; and allthe pomegranatesuponthe network were a hundredround about. And the captainof the guardtookSeraiahthe chiefpriest, and Zephaniahthe secondpriest, and the threekeepersof the door: He tookalso out ofthe cityaeunuch, whichhadthe chargeofthe menof war; and sevenmenof them that were nearthe king's person, whichwere foundin the city; and the principalscribeof the host, who musteredthe peopleof the land; and threescoremenof the peopleof the land, that were foundin the midstof the city. So Nebuzaradanthe captainof the guardtookthem, and broughtthem tothe kingof Babylonto Riblah. And the kingof Babylonsmotethem, and put them to deathin Riblahin the landof Hamath. Thus Judahwas carried away captiveout ofhis own land. This is the peoplewhomNebuchadnezzarcarried away captive: in the seventhyearthreethousandJewsand threeand twenty: In the eighteenthyearof Nebuchadnezzarhe carried away captivefrom Jerusalemeighthundredthirtyand twopersons: In the threeand twentiethyearof NebuchadnezzarNebuzaradanthe captainof the guardcarried away captiveof the Jewssevenhundredfortyand fivepersons: allthe persons were fourthousandand sixhundred. And it came to passin the sevenand thirtiethyearof the captivityof Jehoiachinkingof Judah, in the twelfthmonth, in the fiveand twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach kingof Babylonin the first yearof his reignlifted upthe headof Jehoiachinkingof Judah, and brought him forthout of prison, And spokekindlyuntohim, and sethis throneabovethe throneof the kingsthat were withhim in Babylon, And changedhis prisongarments: and he did continuallyeatbreadbeforehim allthe daysof his life. And for his diet, there was a continualdietgivenhim ofthe kingof Babylon, every daya portionuntilthe dayof his death, allthe daysof his life.
