In thosedayswas Hezekiah sickunto death. And the prophetIsaiahthe sonof Amozcametohim, and saiduntohim, Thussaiththe LORD, Set thine house in order; forthoushalt die, and notlive. Then he turnedhis facetothe wall, and prayeduntothe LORD, saying, I beseech thee, O LORD, remembernowhowI have walkedbeforethee in truthand with a perfectheart, and have done that which is goodin thy sight. And Hezekiahweptsore. And it came to pass, beforeIsaiahwas gone outinto the middlecourt, that the wordof the LORDcametohim, saying, Turn again, and tellHezekiahthe captainof my people, Thussaiththe LORD, the Godof Davidthy father, I have heardthy prayer, I have seenthy tears: behold, I will healthee: on the thirddaythou shalt go upunto the houseof the LORD. And I will adduntothy daysfifteenyears; and I will deliverthee and thiscityout of the handof the kingof Assyria; and I will defendthiscityfor mine own sake, and for my servantDavid's sake. And Isaiahsaid, Takea lumpof figs. And they tookand laid it onthe boil, and he recovered. And HezekiahsaiduntoIsaiah, What shall be the signthatthe LORDwill healme, and that I shall go upinto the houseof the LORDthe thirdday? And Isaiahsaid, Thissignshalt thou have ofthe LORD, thatthe LORDwill dothe thingthathe hath spoken: shall the shadowgo forwardtendegrees, orgo backtendegrees? And Hezekiahanswered, It is a light thingfor the shadowto go downtendegrees: nay, butlet the shadowreturnbackwardtendegrees. And Isaiahthe prophetcrieduntothe LORD: and he broughtthe shadowtendegreesbackward, by whichit had gone downin the dialof Ahaz. Then cameIsaiahthe prophetuntokingHezekiah, and saiduntohim, Whatsaidthesemen? and from whencecamethey untothee? And Hezekiahsaid, They are comefrom a far country, even from Babylon. And he said, Whathave they seenin thine house? And Hezekiahanswered, All the things that are in mine househave they seen: there isnothingamong my treasuresthatI have notshowedthem. And of thy sonsthatshall issuefromthee, whichthou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall beeunuchsin the palaceof the kingof Babylon. Then saidHezekiahuntoIsaiah, Good is the wordof the LORDwhichthou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good , ifpeaceand truthbein my days? And the restof the actsof Hezekiah, and allhis might, and howhe madea pool, and a conduit, and broughtwaterinto the city, are theynotwritteninthe bookof the chroniclesof the kingsof Judah?
