Andas Jesus passed by, he sawa manwhich was blindfrom his birth. Andhisdisciplesaskedhim, saying, Master, whodid sin, this man, orhisparents, thathe was bornblind Jesusanswered, Neither hath this mansinned, norhisparents: butthattheworks of God should be made manifestinhim. Imustworktheworks of him that sentme, while it isday: the nightcometh, when no mancanwork. As long as I amintheworld, I am the light of theworld. When he had thusspoken, he spaton the ground, andmadeclayofthespittle, andhe anointedtheeyesof theblind manwith theclay, Andsaidunto him, Go, washinthepool of Siloam, ( whichis by interpretation, Sent.) He went his waytherefore, andwashed, andcameseeing. Theneighborstherefore, andthey which beforehad seenhimthathe wasblind, said, Isnotthishe that satandbegged? Somesaid, Thisishe: others said, He islikehim: but hesaid, Iam he. Thereforesaidthey unto him, Howwere thineeyesopened? Heansweredandsaid, A manthat is calledJesusmadeclay, andanointedmineeyes, andsaidunto me, Gotothepoolof Siloam, andwash: andI wentandwashed, andI received sight. Thensaidthey unto him, Whereishe? He said, I knownot. They broughttothePhariseeshimthat aforetimewas blind. Andit wasthe sabbath daywhenJesusmadetheclay, andopenedhiseyes. ThenagainthePhariseesalsoaskedhimhowhe had received his sight. Hesaidunto them, He putclayuponmineeyes, andI washed, anddo see. ThereforesaidsomeofthePharisees, ThismanisnotofGod, becausehe keepethnotthesabbath day. Otherssaid, Howcana manthat is a sinnerdosuchmiracles? Andthere wasa divisionamongthem. They sayunto theblind managain, Whatsayestthouofhim, thathe hath openedthineeyes? Hesaid, He isa prophet. ButtheJewsdid notbelieveconcerninghim, thathe had beenblind, andreceived his sight, untilthey calledtheparentsof himthat had received his sight. Andthey askedthem, saying, Isthisyourson, whoyesaywasbornblind? howthendoth he nowsee? Hisparentsansweredthemandsaid, We knowthatthisisourson, andthathe was bornblind: Butby what meanshe nowseeth, we knownot; orwhohath openedhiseyes, weknownot: heis of age; askhim: heshall speakforhimself. These words spakehisparents, becausethey fearedtheJews: fortheJewshad agreedalready, thatifany mandid confessthat hewas Christ, he should beput out of the synagogue. Thereforesaidhisparents, He is of age; askhim. Thenagaincalledthey themanthatwasblind, andsaidunto him, GiveGodthe praise: weknowthatthismanisa sinner. Heansweredandsaid, Whetherhe bea sinner or no, I knownot: one thingI know, that, whereas I wasblind, nowI see. Thensaidthey to himagain, Whatdidhe to thee? howopenedhe thineeyes? He answeredthem, I have toldyoualready, andye did nothear: whereforewouldye hear it again? willyealsobehisdisciples? Thenthey reviledhim, andsaid, Thouarthisdisciple; butweareMoses' disciples. WeknowthatGodspakeunto Moses: as forthis fellow, we knownotfrom whencehe is. Themanansweredandsaidunto them, Whyhereinisa marvelous thing, thatyeknownotfrom whencehe is, and yet he hath openedmineeyes. Nowwe knowthatGodhearethnotsinners: butifany manbea worshiper of God, anddoethhiswill, himhe heareth. Since the world beganwas it notheardthatany manopenedthe eyesof one that was bornblind. Ifthis manwerenotofGod, he coulddonothing. They answeredandsaidunto him, Thouwast altogetherborninsins, anddost thouteachus? Andthey casthimout. Jesusheardthatthey had casthimout; andwhen he had foundhim, he saidunto him, Dost thoubelieveontheSon of God? Heansweredandsaid, Whoishe, Lord, thatI might believeonhim? AndJesussaidunto him, Thou hast bothseenhim, and it ishe that talkethwiththee. Andhesaid, Lord, I believe. Andhe worshipedhim. AndJesussaid, ForjudgmentI am comeintothisworld, that they which seenot might see; and that they which see might be madeblind. And some ofthePhariseeswhich werewithhimheardthese wordsandsaidunto him, Areweblindalso? Jesussaidunto them, If ye wereblind, ye should havenosin: butnow ye say, We see; thereforeyoursinremaineth.
