And when the peoplecomplained, it displeasedthe LORD: and the LORDheard it ; and his angerwas kindled; and the fireof the LORDburntamong them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost partsof the camp. And the peoplecrieduntoMoses; and when Mosesprayeduntothe LORD, the firewas quenched. And he calledthe nameof the placeTaberah: becausethe fireof the LORDburntamong them. And the mixed multitudethat was amongthem fell a lusting: and the childrenof Israelalsoweptagain, and said, Whoshall give us fleshto eat? We rememberthe fish, whichwe did eatin Egyptfreely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic: But nowour soul is dried away: there is nothingat all, besidethis manna, before our eyes. And the manna was as corianderseed, and the colorthereof as the colorof bedellium. And the peoplewent about, and gathered it , and ground it in mills, orbeat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and madecakesof it: and the tasteof it wasas the tasteof freshoil. And when the dewfelluponthe campin the night, the mannafelluponit. Then Mosesheardthe peopleweepthroughout their families, every manin the doorof his tent: and the angerof the LORDwas kindledgreatly; Mosesalso was displeased. And Mosessaiduntothe LORD, Whereforehast thou afflictedthy servant? and whereforehave I notfoundfavorin thy sight, that thou layestthe burdenof allthispeopleuponme? Have Iconceivedallthispeople? have Ibegottenthem, thatthou shouldest sayuntome, Carrythem in thy bosom, asa nursing fatherbeareththe sucking child, untothe landwhichthou sworestunto their fathers? Whenceshould I have fleshto giveunto allthispeople? forthey weepuntome, saying, Giveus flesh, that we may eat. Iam not ableto bearallthispeoplealone, because it is too heavyforme. And ifthoudealthuswith me, killme, I pray thee, out of hand, ifI have foundfavorin thy sight; and let me notseemy wretchedness. And the LORDsaiduntoMoses, Gatherunto me seventymenof the eldersof Israel, whomthou knowestto be the eldersof the people, and officersover them; and bringthem untothe tabernacleof the congregation, that they may standtherewiththee. And I will come downand talkwiththee there: and I will takeofthe spiritwhich is uponthee, and will put it uponthem; and they shall bearthe burdenof the peoplewiththee, that thoubear it notthyself alone. And saythou untothe people, Sanctify yourselvesagainst tomorrow, and ye shall eatflesh: forye have weptin the earsof the LORD, saying, Whoshall give us fleshto eat? for it was wellwith us in Egypt: therefore the LORDwill giveyou flesh, and ye shall eat. Ye shall noteatoneday, nortwo days, norfivedays, neithertendays, nortwentydays; But evena wholemonth, untilit come outat your nostrils, and it beloathsomeunto you: becausethatye have despisedthe LORDwhich is amongyou, and have weptbeforehim, saying, Whycame we forthout of Egypt? And Mosessaid, The people, amongwhomI am , are sixhundredthousandfootmen; and thouhast said, I will givethem flesh, that they may eata wholemonth. Shall the flocksand the herdsbe slainfor them, to sufficethem? orshall allthe fishof the seabe gathered togetherfor them, to sufficethem? And the LORDsaiduntoMoses, Is the LORD's handwaxed short? thou shalt seenowwhether my wordshall come to passunto thee ornot. And Moseswent out, and toldthe peoplethe wordsof the LORD, and gatheredthe seventymenof the eldersof the people, and setthem round aboutthe tabernacle. And the LORDcame downin a cloud, and spokeuntohim, and tookofthe spiritthat was uponhim, and gave it untothe seventyelders: and it came to pass, that , when the spiritresteduponthem, they prophesied, and did notcease. But there remainedtwo of the menin the camp, the nameof the one was Eldad, and the nameof the otherMedad: and the spiritresteduponthem; and they were of them that were written, but went not outunto the tabernacle: and they prophesiedin the camp. And there rana young man, and toldMoses, and said, Eldadand Medaddo prophesyin the camp. And Joshuathe sonof Nun, the servantof Moses, one of his young men, answeredand said, My lordMoses, forbidthem. And Mosessaidunto him, Enviestthoufor my sake? would Godthat allthe LORD's peoplewere prophets, and thatthe LORDwould puthis spirituponthem! And Mosesgothim intothe camp, heand the eldersof Israel. And there went fortha windfromthe LORD, and broughtquailsfromthe sea, and let them fallbythe camp, as it were a day's journeyon this side, and as it were a day's journeyon the other side, round aboutthe camp, and as it were two cubits high uponthe faceof the earth. And the peoplestood upallthatday, and all that night, and allthe nextday, and they gatheredthe quails: he that gathered leastgatheredtenhomers: and they spread them all abroadfor themselves round aboutthe camp. And while the flesh was yetbetweentheir teeth, ereit was chewed, the wrathof the LORDwas kindledagainst the people, and the LORDsmotethe peoplewith a verygreatplague. And he calledthe nameof thatplaceKibroth-hattaavah: becausetherethey buriedthe peoplethat lusted. And the peoplejourneyedfrom Kibroth-hattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abodeat Hazeroth.
