And the wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Sonof man, setthy facetowardthe mountainsof Israel, and prophesyagainstthem, And say, Ye mountainsof Israel, hearthe wordof the LordGOD; Thussaiththe LordGODto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bringa sworduponyou, and I will destroyyour high places. And your altarsshall be desolate, and your imagesshall be broken: and I will cast downyour slain men beforeyour idols. And I will laythe dead carcassesof the childrenof Israelbeforetheir idols; and I will scatteryour bonesround aboutyour altars. In allyour dwelling placesthe citiesshall be laid waste, and the high placesshall be desolate; thatyour altarsmay be laid wasteand made desolate, and your idolsmay be brokenand cease, and your imagesmay be cut down, and your worksmay be abolished. And the slainshall fallin the midstof you, and ye shall knowthatI am the LORD. Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escapethe swordamong the nations, when ye shall be scatteredthrough the countries. And they that escapeof you shall rememberme among the nationswhitherthey shall be carried captives, becauseI am brokenwiththeir whorishheart, whichhath departedfromme, and withtheir eyes, which go a whoringaftertheir idols: and they shall loathethemselvesforthe evilswhichthey have committedin alltheir abominations. And they shall knowthatI am the LORD, and that I have notsaidin vainthat I would dothisevilunto them. Thussaiththe LordGOD; Smitewith thine hand, and stampwith thy foot, and say, Alasforallthe evilabominationsof the houseof Israel! forthey shall fallby the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence. He that is far offshall dieof the pestilence; and he that is nearshall fallby the sword; and he that remainethand is besiegedshall dieby the famine: thus will I accomplishmy furyupon them. Then shall ye knowthatI am the LORD, when their slain men shall beamongtheir idolsround abouttheir altars, uponeveryhighhill, in allthe topsof the mountains, and undereverygreentree, and undereverythickoak, the placewherethey did offersweetsavorto alltheir idols. So will I stretch outmy handuponthem, and makethe landdesolate, yea, more desolatethan the wildernesstoward Diblath, in alltheir habitations: and they shall knowthatI am the LORD.
