O give thanksunto the LORD, for he is good: forhis mercy endureth forever. Let the redeemedof the LORDsay so , whomhe hath redeemedfrom the handof the enemy; And gatheredthem out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wanderedin the wildernessin a solitaryway; they foundnocityto dwellin. Hungryandthirsty, their soulfaintedin them. Then they crieduntothe LORDin their trouble, and he deliveredthem out of their distresses. And he led them forthby the rightway, that they might gotoa cityof habitation. Oh that men would praisethe LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful worksto the childrenof men! Forhe satisfieththe longingsoul, and filleththe hungrysoulwith goodness. Such as sitin darknessand in the shadow of death, being boundin afflictionand iron; Becausethey rebelled againstthe wordsof God, and contemnedthe counselof the most High: Therefore he brought downtheir heartwith labor; they fell down, and there was noneto help. Then they crieduntothe LORDin their trouble, and he savedthem out of their distresses. He brought them outof darknessand the shadow of death, and broketheir bandsin sunder. Oh that men would praisethe LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful worksto the childrenof men! Forhe hath brokenthe gatesof brass, and cutthe barsof ironin sunder. Foolsbecauseof their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soulabhorrethall mannerof meat; and they draw nearuntothe gatesof death. Then they cryuntothe LORDin their trouble, and he saveththem out of their distresses. He senthis word, and healedthem, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praisethe LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful worksto the childrenof men! And let them sacrificethe sacrificesof thanksgiving, and declarehis workswith rejoicing. They that go downto the seain ships, that dobusinessin greatwaters; Theseseethe worksof the LORD, and his wondersin the deep. For he commandeth, and raiseththe stormywind, which lifteth upthe wavesthereof. They mount upto the heaven, they go downagain to the depths: their soulis meltedbecause of trouble. They reel to and fro, and staggerlike a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. Then they cryuntothe LORDin their trouble, and he bringeth them outof their distresses. He makeththe storma calm, so that the wavesthereof are still. Then are they gladbecausethey be quiet; so he bringeththem untotheir desiredhaven. Oh that men would praisethe LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful worksto the childrenof men! Let them exalthim also in the congregationof the people, and praisehim in the assemblyof the elders. He turnethriversinto a wilderness, and the waterspringsinto dry ground; A fruitfullandinto barrenness, for the wickednessof them that dwelltherein. He turneththe wildernessinto a standingwater, and drygroundinto watersprings. And therehe maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may preparea cityfor habitation; And sowthe fields, and plantvineyards, which may yieldfruitsof increase. He blesseththem also, so that they are multipliedgreatly; and suffereth nottheir cattleto decrease. Again, they are minishedand brought lowthrough oppression, affliction, and sorrow. He pourethcontemptuponprinces, and causeth them to wanderin the wilderness, where there is noway. Yet setteth he the poor on highfrom affliction, and maketh him familieslike a flock. The righteousshall see it , and rejoice: and alliniquityshall stopher mouth. Whoso is wise, and will observethese things , even they shall understandthe lovingkindnessof the LORD.
