A Prayerof the afflicted, whenhe is overwhelmed, and poureth outhis complaintbeforethe LORD. Hearmy prayer, O LORD, and let my crycomeuntothee. Hidenotthy facefromme in the day when I am in trouble; inclinethine earuntome: in the day when I callanswerme speedily. Formy daysare consumedlike smoke, and my bonesare burnedasa hearth. My heartis smitten, and witheredlike grass; sothat I forgetto eatmy bread. By reason of the voiceof my groaningmy bonescleaveto my skin. I am likea pelicanof the wilderness: I amlike an owlof the desert. I watch, and amas a sparrowaloneuponthe house top. Mine enemiesreproachme allthe day; and they that are madagainst me are swornagainst me. ForI have eatenasheslike bread, and mingledmy drinkwith weeping, Becauseof thine indignationand thy wrath: forthou hast lifted me up, and cast me down. My days are like a shadowthat declineth; and Iam witheredlike grass. But thou, O LORD, shalt endureforever; and thy remembranceunto all generations. Thoushalt arise, and have mercy uponZion: forthe timeto favorher, yea, the set time, is come. Forthy servantstake pleasure inher stones, and favorthe dustthereof. So the heathenshall fearthe nameof the LORD, and allthe kingsof the earththy glory. Whenthe LORDshall build upZion, he shall appearin his glory. He will regardthe prayerof the destitute, and notdespisetheir prayer. Thisshall be writtenfor the generationto come: and the peoplewhich shall be createdshall praisethe LORD. Forhe hath looked downfrom the heightof his sanctuary; from heavendid the LORDbeholdthe earth; To hearthe groaningof the prisoner; to loosethose that are appointedto death; To declarethe nameof the LORDin Zion, and his praisein Jerusalem; When the peopleare gatheredtogether, and the kingdoms, to servethe LORD. He weakenedmy strengthin the way; he shortenedmy days. I said, O my God, takeme notaway in the midstof my days: thy years are throughout all generations. Of oldhast thou laid the foundationof the earth: and the heavens are the workof thy hands. Theyshall perish, but thoushalt endure: yea, allof them shall wax oldlike a garment; as a vestureshalt thou changethem, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy yearsshall have noend. The childrenof thy servantsshall continue, and their seedshall be establishedbeforethee.
