      <verse number='1'>Now <strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs><strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>'s <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>bore him no <strongs number="3205 3808">children</strongs>: and she had an <strongs number="8198">handmaid</strongs>, an <strongs number="4713">Egyptian</strongs>, whose <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="1904">Hagar</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>, the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="6113">restrained</strongs>me from <strongs number="4480 3205">bearing</strongs>: I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, go <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>my <strongs number="8198">maid</strongs>; it may <strongs number="194">be</strongs>that I may obtain <strongs number="1129">children</strongs><strongs number="4480">by</strongs>her.       <verse number='4'>And he went <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1904">Hagar</strongs>, and she <strongs number="2029">conceived</strongs>: and when she <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>she had <strongs number="2029">conceived</strongs>, her <strongs number="1404">mistress</strongs>was <strongs number="7043">despised</strongs>in her <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And <strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>, My <strongs number="2555">wrong</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>thee: <strongs number="595">I</strongs>have <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>my <strongs number="8198">maid</strongs>into thy <strongs number="2436">bosom</strongs>; and when she <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>she had <strongs number="2029">conceived</strongs>, I was <strongs number="7043">despised</strongs>in her <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>: the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="8199">judge</strongs><strongs number="996">between</strongs>me and thee. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>But <strongs number="87">Abram</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, thy <strongs number="8198">maid</strongs><em> is </em>in thy <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>; <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>to her as it <strongs number="2896 5869">pleaseth</strongs>thee. And when <strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs>dealt <strongs number="6031">hardly</strongs>with her, she <strongs number="1272">fled</strongs>from her <strongs number="4480 6440">face</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="4672">found</strongs>her <strongs number="5921">by</strongs>a <strongs number="5869">fountain</strongs>of <strongs number="4325">water</strongs>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>, <strongs number="5921">by</strongs>the <strongs number="5869">fountain</strongs>in the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>to <strongs number="7793">Shur</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="1904">Hagar</strongs>, <strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs>'s <strongs number="8198">maid</strongs>, <strongs number="335 4480 2088">whence</strongs><strongs number="935">camest</strongs>thou? and <strongs number="575">whither</strongs>wilt thou <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>? And she <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="595">I</strongs><strongs number="1272">flee</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 6440">face</strongs>of my <strongs number="1404">mistress</strongs><strongs number="8297">Sarai</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto her, <strongs number="7725">Return</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>thy <strongs number="1404">mistress</strongs>, and submit <strongs number="6031">thyself</strongs><strongs number="8478">under</strongs>her <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto her, I will multiply thy seed <strongs number="7235 7235 *853 2233">exceedingly</strongs>, that it shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="5608">numbered</strongs>for <strongs number="4480 7230">multitude</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto her, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, thou <em> art </em>with <strongs number="2030">child</strongs>, and shalt <strongs number="3205">bear</strongs>a <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>, and shalt <strongs number="7121">call</strongs>his <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><strongs number="3458">Ishmael</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="8085 413">heard</strongs>thy <strongs number="6040">affliction</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>will <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>a <strongs number="6501">wild</strongs><strongs number="120">man</strongs>; his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><em> will </em><em> be </em>against every <strongs number="3605">man</strongs>, and every <strongs number="3605">man</strongs>'s <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>against him; and he shall <strongs number="7931">dwell</strongs>in the <strongs number="5921 6440">presence</strongs>of <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>. </verse>
