<vn='1'>To the chief <sn="5329">Musician</s>, A Psalm of <sn="1732">David</s>, the <sn="5650">servant</s> of the <sn="3068">LORD</s>, <sn="834">who</s><sn="1696">spoke</s> unto the <sn="3068">LORD</s><sn="*853"></s> the <sn="1697">words</s> of <sn="2063">this</s><sn="7892">song</s> in the <sn="3117">day</s> that the <sn="3068">LORD</s><sn="5337">delivered</s> him from the <sn="4480 3709">hand</s> of <sn="3605">all</s> his <sn="341">enemies</s>, and from the <sn="4480 3027">hand</s> of <sn="7586">Saul</s>: And he <sn="559">said</s>, I will <sn="7355">love</s> thee, O <sn="3068">LORD</s>, my <sn="2391">strength</s>. </v>
<vn='2'>The <sn="3068">LORD</s> is my <sn="5553">rock</s>, and my <sn="4686">fortress</s>, and my <sn="6403">deliverer</s>; my <sn="410">God</s>, my <sn="6697">strength</s>, in whom I will <sn="2620">trust</s>; my <sn="4043">buckler</s>, and the <sn="7161">horn</s> of my <sn="3468">salvation</s>, and my high <sn="4869">tower</s>. </v>
<vn='3'>I will <sn="7121">call</s> upon the <sn="3068">LORD</s>, who is worthy to be <sn="1984">praised</s>: so shall I be <sn="3467">saved</s><sn="4480">from</s> mine <sn="341">enemies</s>. </v>
<vn='4'>The <sn="2256">sorrows</s> of <sn="4194">death</s><sn="661">compassed</s> me, and the <sn="5158">floods</s> of ungodly <sn="1100">men</s> made me <sn="1204">afraid</s>. </v>
<vn='5'>The <sn="2256">sorrows</s> of <sn="7585">hell</s> compassed me <sn="5437">about</s>: the <sn="4170">snares</s> of <sn="4194">death</s><sn="6923">prevented</s> me. </v>
<vn='6'>In my <sn="6862">distress</s> I called <sn="7121">upon</s> the <sn="3068">LORD</s>, and <sn="7768">cried</s><sn="413">unto</s> my <sn="430">God</s>: he <sn="8085">heard</s> my <sn="6963">voice</s> out of his <sn="4480 1964">temple</s>, and my <sn="7775">cry</s><sn="935">came</s><sn="6440">before</s> him, even into his <sn="241">ears</s>. </v>
<vn='7'>Then the <sn="776">earth</s><sn="1607">shook</s> and <sn="7493">trembled</s>; the <sn="4146">foundations</s> also of the <sn="2022">hills</s><sn="7264">moved</s> and were <sn="1607">shaken</s>, <sn="3588">because</s> he was <sn="2734">wroth</s>. </v>
<vn='8'>There went <sn="5927">up</s> a <sn="6227">smoke</s> out of his <sn="639">nostrils</s>, and <sn="784">fire</s> out of his <sn="4480 6310">mouth</s><sn="398">devoured</s>: <sn="1513">coals</s> were <sn="1197">kindled</s><sn="4480">by</s> it. </v>
<vn='9'>He <sn="5186">bowed</s> the <sn="8064">heavens</s> also, and came <sn="3381">down</s>: and <sn="6205">darkness</s> was <sn="8478">under</s> his <sn="7272">feet</s>. </v>
<vn='10'>And he <sn="7392">rode</s><sn="5921">upon</s> a <sn="3742">cherub</s>, and did <sn="5774">fly</s>: yea, he did <sn="1675">fly</s><sn="5921">upon</s> the <sn="3671">wings</s> of the <sn="7307">wind</s>. </v>
<vn='11'>He <sn="7896">made</s><sn="2824">darkness</s> his secret <sn="5643">place</s>; his <sn="5521">pavilion</s> round <sn="5439">about</s> him were <sn="2824">dark</s><sn="4325">waters</s> and thick <sn="5645">clouds</s> of the <sn="7834">skies</s>. </v>
<vn='12'>At the <sn="4480 5051">brightness</s> that was <sn="5048">before</s> him his thick <sn="5645">clouds</s><sn="5674">passed</s>, <sn="1259">hail</s> stones and <sn="1513">coals</s> of <sn="784">fire</s>. </v>
<vn='13'>The <sn="3068">LORD</s> also <sn="7481">thundered</s> in the <sn="8064">heavens</s>, and the <sn="5945">Highest</s><sn="5414">gave</s> his <sn="6963">voice</s>; <sn="1259">hail</s> stones and <sn="1513">coals</s> of <sn="784">fire</s>. </v>
<vn='14'>Yea, he sent <sn="7971">out</s> his <sn="2671">arrows</s>, and <sn="6327">scattered</s> them; and he shot <sn="7232">out</s><sn="1300">lightnings</s>, and <sn="2000">discomfited</s> them. </v>
<vn='15'>Then the <sn="650">channels</s> of <sn="4325">waters</s> were <sn="7200">seen</s>, and the <sn="4146">foundations</s> of the <sn="8398">world</s> were <sn="1540">discovered</s> at thy <sn="4480 1606">rebuke</s>, O <sn="3068">LORD</s>, at the <sn="4480 5397">blast</s> of the <sn="7307">breath</s> of thy <sn="639">nostrils</s>. </v>
<vn='16'>He <sn="7971">sent</s> from <sn="4480 4791">above</s>, he <sn="3947">took</s> me, he <sn="4871">drew</s> me out of many <sn="4480 4325 7227">waters</s>. </v>
<vn='17'>He <sn="5337">delivered</s> me from my <sn="5794">strong</s><sn="4480 341">enemy</s>, and from them which <sn="4480 8130">hated</s> me: <sn="3588">for</s> they were too <sn="553">strong</s><sn="4480">for</s> me. </v>
<vn='18'>They <sn="6923">prevented</s> me in the <sn="3117">day</s> of my <sn="343">calamity</s>: but the <sn="3068">LORD</s><sn="1961">was</s> my <sn="4937">stay</s>. </v>
<vn='19'>He brought me <sn="3318">forth</s> also into a large <sn="4800">place</s>; he <sn="2502">delivered</s> me, <sn="3588">because</s> he <sn="2654">delighted</s> in me. </v>
<vn='20'>The <sn="3068">LORD</s><sn="1580">rewarded</s> me according to my <sn="6664">righteousness</s>; according to the <sn="1252">cleanness</s> of my <sn="3027">hands</s> hath he <sn="7725">recompensed</s> me. </v>
<vn='21'><sn="3588">For</s> I have <sn="8104">kept</s> the <sn="1870">ways</s> of the <sn="3068">LORD</s>, and have <sn="3808">not</s> wickedly <sn="7561">departed</s> from my <sn="4480 430">God</s>. </v>
<vn='22'><sn="3588">For</s><sn="3605">all</s> his <sn="4941">judgments</s> were <sn="5048">before</s> me, and I did <sn="3808">not</s> put <sn="5493">away</s> his <sn="2708">statutes</s><sn="4480">from</s> me. </v>
<vn='23'>I <sn="1961">was</s> also <sn="8549">upright</s><sn="5973">before</s> him, and I kept <sn="8104">myself</s> from mine <sn="4480 5771">iniquity</s>. </v>
<vn='24'>Therefore hath the <sn="3068">LORD</s><sn="7725">recompensed</s> me according to my <sn="6664">righteousness</s>, according to the <sn="1252">cleanness</s> of my <sn="3027">hands</s><sn="5048">in</s> his <sn="5869">eyesight</s>. </v>
<vn='25'><sn="5973">With</s> the <sn="2623">merciful</s> thou wilt show thyself <sn="2616">merciful</s>; <sn="5973">with</s> an <sn="8549">upright</s><sn="1399">man</s> thou wilt show thyself <sn="8552">upright</s>; </v>
<vn='26'><sn="5973">With</s> the <sn="1305">pure</s> thou wilt show thyself <sn="1305">pure</s>; and <sn="5973">with</s> the <sn="6141">froward</s> thou wilt show thyself <sn="6617">froward</s>. </v>
<vn='27'><sn="3588">For</s> thou <sn="859">wilt</s><sn="3467">save</s> the <sn="6041">afflicted</s><sn="5971">people</s>; but wilt bring <sn="8213">down</s><sn="7311">high</s><sn="5869">looks</s>. </v>
<vn='28'><sn="3588">For</s><sn="859">thou</s> wilt <sn="215">light</s> my <sn="5216">candle</s>: the <sn="3068">LORD</s> my <sn="430">God</s> will <sn="5050">enlighten</s> my <sn="2822">darkness</s>. </v>
<vn='29'><sn="3588">For</s> by thee I have run <sn="7323">through</s> a <sn="1416">troop</s>; and by my <sn="430">God</s> have I leaped <sn="1801">over</s> a <sn="7791">wall</s>. </v>
<vn='30'> As for <sn="410">God</s>, his <sn="1870">way</s> is <sn="8549">perfect</s>: the <sn="565">word</s> of the <sn="3068">LORD</s> is <sn="6884">tried</s>: <sn="1931">he</s> is a <sn="4043">buckler</s> to <sn="3605">all</s> those that <sn="2620">trust</s> in him. </v>
<vn='31'><sn="3588">For</s><sn="4310">who</s> is <sn="433">God</s><sn="4480 1107">save</s> the <sn="3068">LORD</s>? or <sn="4310">who</s> is a <sn="6697">rock</s><sn="2108">save</s> our <sn="430">God</s>? </v>
<vn='32'> It is <sn="410">God</s> that <sn="247">girdeth</s> me with <sn="2428">strength</s>, and <sn="5414">maketh</s> my <sn="1870">way</s><sn="8549">perfect</s>. </v>
<vn='33'>He <sn="7737">maketh</s> my <sn="7272">feet</s> like <sn="355">hinds</s> ' feet, and <sn="5975">setteth</s> me <sn="5921">upon</s> my high <sn="1116">places</s>. </v>
<vn='34'>He <sn="3925">teacheth</s> my <sn="3027">hands</s> to <sn="4421">war</s>, so that a <sn="7198">bow</s> of <sn="5154">steel</s> is <sn="5181">broken</s> by mine <sn="2220">arms</s>. </v>
<vn='35'>Thou hast also <sn="5414">given</s> me the <sn="4043">shield</s> of thy <sn="3468">salvation</s>: and thy right <sn="3225">hand</s> hath holden me <sn="5582">up</s>, and thy <sn="6038">gentleness</s> hath made me <sn="7235">great</s>. </v>
<vn='36'>Thou hast <sn="7337">enlarged</s> my <sn="6806">steps</s><sn="8478">under</s> me, that my <sn="7166">feet</s> did <sn="3808">not</s><sn="4571">slip</s>. </v>
<vn='37'>I have <sn="7291">pursued</s> mine <sn="341">enemies</s>, and <sn="5381">overtaken</s> them: <sn="3808">neither</s> did I turn <sn="7725">again</s><sn="5704">till</s> they were <sn="3615">consumed</s>. </v>
<vn='38'>I have <sn="4272">wounded</s> them that they were <sn="3808">not</s><sn="3201">able</s> to <sn="6965">rise</s>: they are <sn="5307">fallen</s><sn="8478">under</s> my <sn="7272">feet</s>. </v>
<vn='39'>For thou hast <sn="247">girded</s> me with <sn="2428">strength</s> unto the <sn="4421">battle</s>: thou hast <sn="3766">subdued</s><sn="8478">under</s> me those that rose <sn="6965">up</s> against me. </v>
<vn='40'>Thou hast also <sn="5414">given</s> me the <sn="6203">necks</s> of mine <sn="341">enemies</s>; that I might <sn="6789">destroy</s> them that <sn="8130">hate</s> me. </v>
<vn='41'>They <sn="7768">cried</s>, but there was <sn="369">none</s> to <sn="3467">save</s> them: even <sn="5921">unto</s> the <sn="3068">LORD</s>, but he <sn="6030">answered</s> them <sn="3808">not</s>. </v>
<vn='42'>Then did I beat them <sn="7833">small</s> as the <sn="6083">dust</s><sn="5921 6440">before</s> the <sn="7307">wind</s>: I did cast them <sn="7324">out</s> as the <sn="2916">dirt</s> in the <sn="2351">streets</s>. </v>
<vn='43'>Thou hast <sn="6403">delivered</s> me from the <sn="4480 7379">strivings</s> of the <sn="5971">people</s>; and thou hast <sn="7760">made</s> me the <sn="7218">head</s> of the <sn="1471">heathen</s>: a <sn="5971">people</s> whom I have <sn="3808">not</s><sn="3045">known</s> shall <sn="5647">serve</s> me. </v>
<vn='44'>As soon as they <sn="8088 241">hear</s> of me, they shall <sn="8085">obey</s> me: the <sn="1121 5236">strangers</s> shall <sn="3584">submit</s> themselves unto me. </v>
<vn='45'>The <sn="1121 5236">strangers</s> shall fade <sn="5034">away</s>, and be <sn="2727">afraid</s> out <sn="4480">of</s> their close <sn="4526">places</s>. </v>
<vn='46'>The <sn="3068">LORD</s><sn="2416">liveth</s>; and <sn="1288">blessed</s> be my <sn="6697">rock</s>; and let the <sn="430">God</s> of my <sn="3468">salvation</s> be <sn="7311">exalted</s>. </v>
<vn='47'> It is <sn="410">God</s> that <sn="5414 5360">avengeth</s> me, and <sn="1696">subdueth</s> the <sn="5971">people</s><sn="8478">under</s> me. </v>
<vn='48'>He <sn="6403">delivereth</s> me from mine <sn="4480 341">enemies</s>: <sn="637">yea</s>, thou liftest me <sn="7311">up</s><sn="4480">above</s> those that rise <sn="6965">up</s> against me: thou hast <sn="5337">delivered</s> me from the <sn="2555">violent</s><sn="4480 376">man</s>. </v>
<vn='49'><sn="5921 3651">Therefore</s> will I give <sn="3034">thanks</s> unto thee, O <sn="3068">LORD</s>, among the <sn="1471">heathen</s>, and sing <sn="2167">praises</s> unto thy <sn="8034">name</s>. </v>
<vn='50'><sn="1431">Great</s><sn="3444">deliverance</s> giveth he to his <sn="4428">king</s>; and <sn="6213">showeth</s><sn="2617">mercy</s> to his <sn="4899">anointed</s>, to <sn="1732">David</s>, and to his <sn="2233">seed</s><sn="5704 5769">forevermore</s>. </v>
